In support of the Government’s response to the Ukraine crisis and offer to resettle Ukrainians families in the UK, Birmingham City Council and BVSC are launching a new community grants fund to voluntary, community and social enterprise sector groups and organisations that are supporting the resettlement process across the City.

The fund is aimed at targeting and bolstering support to the rapidly growing Ukrainian community so that families and individuals can more easily navigate their way through the system of support to help build their lives in the city. Over the next six months Birmingham City Council is looking to invest up to £300k to support the integration of Ukraine nationals into Birmingham, enhance the building and exchange of cultural knowledge as a City of Sanctuary, and support the immediate needs of those arriving through the provision of practical information, advice and support to access services  This is the first phase of funding aimed at community organisations/groups that have (or are building) strong links with the Ukrainian community through regular and effective communication and engagement.

The fund will be launched in mid-August at which time you will find details of how to apply on the Birmingham City Council and BVSC websites. In the meantime, if you are interested in applying, please let us know by contacting [email protected] and providing your organisation’s details, and we will send you an application pack via email when the opportunity is launched.
