Meeting the admission requirements of one of the acceptance options:

Proficiency Exams

English Proficiency Exam

Acceptance to the university is conditional upon successfully passing the English proficiency exam (AMIRAM/AMIRNET) of the National Institute for Testing & Evaluation (NITE) with a score of 85 **

** Excluding the Department of English Literature and Linguistics, for which a score of 120 is required & the Medical Imaging program, for which a score of 100 is required

The minimum score in the English proficiency exams in English are the threshold scores for admission. As part of the requirements for completing your BA studies, you will be required to take courses in English.

High school graduates from English-speaking countries are exempt from the English proficiency exam.

Hebrew Proficiency Exam

Admission is subject to successfully passing a Hebrew proficiency exam with a score of 105 (excluding the Medical Imaging program, Psychology single-major, and Social Work)

Medical Imaging program, Psychology single-major, and Social Work = score of 120

The following are exempt from the YAEL\YAELNET exam, but might have to do an internal Hebrew exam:

Mechinat Olim graduates (completed Rama Daled at least)
Examinees of the Psychometry in Hebrew
Mechina 30+ graduates
B'china Yerushalmit with a score of "Good"
Ulpan graduates from a recognized university with an exemption
Individual cases will be evaluated on an individual basis

How to input scores:

English score and units (ציון בגרות באנגלית, יח"ל) - Those who received an exemption from English course (מתקדמים א, ב, פטור), should input a score of 95 with 5 יח"ל

Note:

• Graduates who receive a Mathematics score in a 4 יח"ל course, receive a bonus of 5 points to the overall grade

• Graduates who receive a Mathematics score in a 5 יח"ל course, receive a bonus of 10 points for the overall grade

• Graduates who received an exemption from studying English (4 or 5 יח"ל), should input a score of 95 with 5 יח"ל

• Courses of study that require psychometric scores - also apply to graduates of the Mechinat Olim

Admission Based on a Previous Accredited Academic Degree

Admission based on an academic degree recognized by the Higher Education Council

Admission is evaluated on an individual basis and the academic relevance of the existing degree to the degree in which the candidate wishes to study. List of department in which there is admission based on a previous academic degree
Admission is without psychometry\SAT\ACT (except in the Faculty of Law, detailed information on the faculty website) and based on an academic exemption from English language studies in the previous degree
A degree taught in the Hebrew language will grant the candidate an academic exemption from the obligation to study Hebrew

Admission for those in active reserve duty and security forces during the Iron Swords war

Admission based solely on all foreign diplomas

Bar-Ilan University salutes you - the men and women who serve in the reserves and security forces who have been harnessed for the past months to the mission of defending the state.

This important task prevented you from devoting the necessary time to studying for the psychometric exam. In order not to harm your chances of being admitted, we have created a special admission track without a need for psychometry/SAT/ACT score for the 2024-2025 year.

Eligibility will be given to candidates who served in the reserves 60 days or more in 2023 (starting from 7.10.23) or those who served more than 28 days in 2024 (starting from 1.1.24), as well as to active security forces who served in 2024 during the Iron Swords war.
Registration for this track will be closed after the quotas of applicants asking for exceptional admission of all types are filled, or on July 1, 2024, whichever comes first.
The admission will be based solely on foreign diploma in addition to meeting the general admission requirements until 1.7.24
Reserve men and women who have served the minimum required number of days, as detailed above, will present a certificate attesting to the period of service. Those in active security forces will present a certificate from an officer with the rank of major or higher (or equivalent) attesting that they served on an unusual scale during 2024 due to the war.
