What if the weather is bad?

The event route is mostly sheltered under tree-cover, so unless there are particularly extreme weather conditions, and the event is therefore deemed unsafe, then the Boo! For Barretstown event will still take place.

We are expecting typical October weather and ask all participants to be prepared for the weather, in terms of wrapping up warm, bring a brolly, consider wellies and avoid high-heels etc.

Event organisers will not be issuing refunds for people who are late or no shows.

Can I pay upon entry?

No. Unfortunately, because car parking is limited, Boo! For Barretstown is a ticket only event and is 100% a pre-booked ticket system.

Do we need to wear masks during the event?

Only spooky Halloween masks are recommended and encouraged!

The event is entirely outdoors.

Do you issue refunds if I cannot attend the event?

If you have to cancel your participation in the fundraising walk, we are afraid we will not be issuing refunds. We can discuss issuing you with a credit note for another Barretstown fundraising event, but as you can appreciate, the event is to raise funds for charity, so refunds would not be the norm.

Tickets cannot be refunded unless the event is cancelled by Barretstown or Russborough, but we will do our best to accommodate individuals.

Please contact: fundraising@barretstown.org if you have a specific issue.

Can I get a refund due to adverse weather conditions?

If the event is cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, then full refunds will be issued. However, if the event is running and you cannot attend due to bad weather, then Barretstown will not be in a position to refund your ticket price donation to this fundraising event.

Can I bring the dog?

Yes, Russborough allow pets on their property, as long as they are fully managed by their owners at all times.

However, ALL dogs must be kept on lead and at no stage should be left unattended.

Be aware the other people’s children may be nervous of your pet and be considerate accordingly.

Please always clean up after your pet and leave no trace in general throughout the event.

What do I do if my ticket has not been mailed to me?

Check you spam folder as the email from Eventbrite may have been misdirected into that.

If you still haven’t received your ticket, please contact EventBrite or fundraising@barretstown.org

Why is there a charge for using my debit/credit card?

The charges are levied on the ticket agent and pay for the processing of the card payment and all other costs associated with the ticket transaction.

Why is there a booking fee when I book my tickets?

This is a charge by EventBrite, a separate ticket agent company and Barretstown do not receive any of this money.
