After labeling a rumor about The 1975 collaborating with Taylor Swift on her new Midnights album as “FAKE NEWS,” the band’s Matty Healy has revealed there’s actually some credibility behind it.

LISTEN NOW: The 1975’s Matty Healy says they worked on parts of Taylor Swift’s newest album

During an appearance in Audacy’s DTS Sound Space, Healy revealed to KROQ hosts Klein and Ally that the group did work on a small piece of the new album with Swift, but in the end, their version didn’t make the cut.

“We actually worked a bit on that,” Healy said regarding Midnights. “But then the version of it never came out. It was for reasons not to be criticized. She’s amazing.”

Clearly no “Bad Blood” between Swift and The 1975 as Healy also shared Swift got a preview of their new album, Funny in a Foreign Language, via her long-time producer, Jack Antonoff, who also produced part of The 1975’s album.

Surely it’s only a matter of time until something actually comes to fruition for the friends. Let’s hope it all happens sooner rather than later.

Check out the full conversation and an exclusive performance with The 1975 in the DTS Sound Space, premiering Sunday at 8:45PM right here and on your favorite Audacy Alternative station.
