Update: 14 December 2023

Additional evidence published to provide further evidence on the UK’s performance over a range of metrics across the quantum landscape.

Quantum technologies make new technological advances possible, from an unprecedented increase in computing power, to precise sensors and enhanced communications.

Countries that develop and use quantum technologies will have advantages in terms of productivity, economic growth, health, sustainability, and national security and resilience.

Government investments to date through the National Quantum Technologies Programme have given the UK a world-leading position.

This strategy sets out our plan for the next 10 years, building on the successes to date, to realise the incredible potential of these technologies for the UK, one of DSIT’s 5 priority technologies of tomorrow.
