Welcome to our new campaign page for the King’s Coronation.

We have launched this page to be a central hub for all things community related across Wiltshire, regarding the Coronation of King Charles III.

Wiltshire Together is already a successful, thriving digital platform, owned, and managed by you, to share activities, events, and volunteering opportunities, which makes it the perfect place to co-ordinate the Kings Coronation for the community in Wiltshire.

The aim of the page is to bring together the ideas, activities and planned events, and of course, volunteering opportunities as part of the ‘Big Help Out’ theme for the coronation. Whether you’re planning a street party, or community picnic in your town or village, and you’re looking for volunteers, or you want to volunteer then this is the page for you.

Maybe you would like to do something for your community for the coronation, but don’t know where to start? This page enables you see the breadth of community activities being planned across all of Wiltshire and you may find something happening that gives you ideas and inspiration to do something in your community.

There are many celebrations locally and nationally for the coronation and more information can be found here.

Locally across Wiltshire we are focussing on three events:

• Coronation Big Lunch: 6^th - 8^th May
• The Big Help Out: 8^th May
• Get 'Volunteer Ready': ongoing

The Coronation Big Lunch

The Coronation Big Lunch brings neighbours and communities together to share friendship, food and fun. Be part of history by joining people across Wiltshire and millions across the UK with a Coronation Big Lunch in your community.

What about a street party? The UK has a long history of organised street parties to celebrate national events. Why not organise one with your neighbours for the Coronation?

The Big Help Out

From rolling up your sleeves to help a local group, to supporting some of Wiltshire’s amazing charities and community groups, the Big Help Out on Monday 8^th May will give everyone an opportunity to join in.

The day offers the opportunity to raise awareness of the value and importance of volunteering, and the opportunity for anyone to have a volunteer taster session to truly experience the role of a volunteer, leaving a legacy for volunteering across Wiltshire. Through our campaign page, as a show of solidarity, we can show that Wiltshire values and cherishes all volunteering activity, and that it’s at the very heart of our community cohesion.

Get Volunteer Ready- Encouraging long-term volunteering

Whilst the Big Help Out campaign is focused on volunteering over the bank holiday weekend, we want to encourage people to volunteer over a longer period, to make volunteering a regular part of your life and to build connections in their communities.

Wessex Community Action knows that there are many small, local organisations that need volunteers beyond Monday 8^th May, so we have created our campaign page which also promotes Get Volunteer Ready. There are opportunities on this page that will help you find a range of volunteering opportunities across the county. We hope this will encourage individuals to think about their skills and time, what they care about and where they might like to volunteer.

Please see below for Volunteering Opportunities. Those directly relating to the Coronation have ‘The Big Help Out’ in the title, those that are part of longer-term volunteering are titled individually.

The challenge for Wiltshire! 

We are aiming to get all Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations across Wiltshire to list collectively a target of over 200+ local volunteering opportunities, events and activities over the Coronation weekend and beyond to raise awareness of volunteering in Wiltshire.

So, add your event, activities, and volunteering taster opportunities for the coronation today!

You can post your activities and collectively we can see how many coronation events are running across all of Wiltshire.

Help us put the Wiltshire Big Lunches on the Eden Project's National Map! 

In addition to putting your Big Lunch on Wiltshire together, you can also register your event nationally. It would be great to see how Wiltshire’s many fantastic lunches and events compare to the national picture. Add your Big Lunch to the Map

If you also register nationally, they have a limited number of mini event kits available to Big Lunch organisers who also tell them about their event! They're full of useful bits and bobs for your Big Lunch, including bunting, wildflower seeds, cake toppers, tea towel, food flags and more! Simply check the box on the form to say you'd like to receive a kit and you’ll get one posted to you in time for your event.
