Adriano Lameira (Assistant Professor)

Adriano Lameira

Interests:

I am an Assistant Professor, Public Engagement officer and Green Champion in the Psychology Department. I am a primatologist turned evolutionary psychologist. My research involves the study of primate behaviour in captivity and in the wild (namely, Borneo and Sumatra). I seek insight about the precursor forms and selective pressures that transformed an ancient ape into a human ancestor. I am particularly interested in pushing forward our understanding of language, music and dance evolution. These topics are covered in my new 3rd year module “Evolution and Primate Origins of Human Behaviour.
