Maria Rovira Dalmau has been the winner of an award “Teniu talent” category student. This award was given by the Societat Catalano balear d’Infermeria (SCBI) with the aim to give visibility to the young talents between 23 and 35 years with projection in the professional future.

In the following lines, you can find a short description of Maria’s formative track which has brought her to this recognition. During her degree, Maria has been involved in many different activities apart from following the regular study plan of nursing degree. During the second year she participated in an intensive programme in Tallin with students from different degrees in health science working under the topic “Youth risk habits”. She also presented a poster with another student from a class project at the Jornada d’Infermeria Àgora. During the summer between the 2nd and the 3rd course she took an extracurricular internship at the Unitat de Ferides Complexes of the Hospital Universitari de la Santa Creu de Vic (HUSCV) in collaboration with the TR2Lab. During her 3rd degree year she did an Erasmus at the University of the West of Scotland. There she learnt from different teaching methods and also from her experience in a hospital placement. The summer of the 3rd course she decided to take another extracurricular internship at the HUSCV in collaboration with TR2Lab. In this occasion, she started to work in her final degree project “Oral betablockers as a treatment for complex wounds” mentored by the TR2Lab researcher Ester Goutan. Maria is very positive about being a TR2Lab student. She says that “belonging to the research group and participating in the group meetings has definitely broadened my research mind”. Moreover, during all these years she has also been working as an auxiliary nurse at the Hospital Sant Jaume de Manlleu. Now she is doing her last internship in the Aatmiya Community Hospital in Nepal where she will learn new skills and live, for sure, many different and new realities.
