Melodic reggaeton acts from Medellín just keep right on coming. The latest is 24-year-old Feid (real name Salomón Villada Hoyos), who started off as a songwriter and won an ASCAP Latin music award in April for his participation as a co-writer in J Balvin’s “Ginza.”
It was Balvin, in fact, who stepped in as a Feid mentor; last year, he was featured on “Que raro,” Feid’s first single with In-Tu-Linea/UMLE.
The track, about the girl who’s only nice when the guy has cash, spent one week on the Hot Latin songs chart back in December.
Three weeks ago, Feid released new single “911” with Nacho, a tropical/reggaeton collab that fuses both artists’ distinct sounds. Although the track has yet to chart, the video, filmed in Medellín, of course, already has over 3 million YouTube views. A new album is slated for later in the year, and meanwhile, Feid has also signed as a songwriter with Universal Music Publishing.
