A study of the role of homecare workers in supporting people living with advanced illness at home
The Partnership
The SUPPORTED Study is a partnership between the University of Hull, University of Sheffield, Kings College London and Bradford NHS Teaching Hospital and is part funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). It brings together many researchers from health and social care specialities.
Alison is a Research Fellow at the Hull York Medical School, and Principal Investigator on the EPOC Study: Exploring pathways to optimise care in malignant bowel obstruction in the Wolfson Palliative Care Research Centre.
Paul is a Palliative Medicine physician working at St Luke’s Hospice in Sheffield, Paul has 9 years of consultant experience. During specialist training, Paul completed a PhD in Health Sciences at Hull and York Medical School, which was awarded in 2012.
On Wednesday 12 April 2023, the university hosted a training session led by Dr Alison Bravington (Pictor technique lead), on how to use Pictor when interviewing participants. Those involved in the session included the researchers from the SUPPORTED study and three of the Homecare Worker, and Service User and Carer Advisory Groups.
