Lebanon Crisis - South Conflict

Lebanon Crisis - South Conflict

The ongoing hostilities in southern Lebanon are taking a devastating toll on the population, with the region facing severe crisis compounded by economic instability and infrastructure collapse. The conflict, which began in October 2023, has resulted in significant casualties and displacement. This crisis is exacerbated by a financial downturn that started in 2019, further weakening already fragile health and education systems.

A large percentage of children are at risk of poverty due to these overlapping crises. Significant damage to infrastructure, including the closure of many schools and healthcare facilities, poses a severe threat to the safety, health, and education of children.

UNICEF, along with other partners, is actively involved in addressing the immediate needs of those affected by the conflict
