Data Management Officer in the Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean Multi-Country Office

What does a Data Management Officer do in a Multi-Country UN Office? Meet Oswald Alleyne, the Data Management Officer in the Resident Coordinator’s office for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean Office, which serves 10 countries. Together with his counterpart in Jamaica (itself a Multi-Country Office servicing 5 countries), Oswald established and coordinates a coalition of UN data experts serving the Eastern Caribbean sub-region. Thanks to his efforts, activities and results in all the countries serviced by the Multi-Country Office are reported in UN INFO, the UN’s single monitoring and reporting platform on system-wide efforts to advance national development priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals. This coalition also helped to identify specific requirements for the UN INFO platform to monitor and report results in Multi-Country Offices, which have been implemented to the benefit of all Multi-Country Offices across the globe. As a result, each Government serviced by the Multi-Country Office now has easy access to and full visibility on the work of UN entities in their country, with a clear view on programme locations, partners, resources and progress in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.
