(Digital) Poster proposals

Duration: Looped during the breaks | Deadline: Monday, April 20

All digital posters will be displayed on allocated screens on a rotation basis in a continuous timed loop during the conference on 9, 10 and 11 June.

The poster should summarise your work with graphs and images and tell a story, text should be used sparingly. Featuring a poster at TNC will be an excellent advertisement for your work and can act as a great conversation starter with TNC delegates.

Poster proposals may include future work that is expected to produce results in the first half of 2020. Abstracts should clearly indicate what work has already been done and what still has to take place.

Selected posters will be displayed in an area next to the parallel sessions and on the conference website. A QR code will be assigned to each poster to enable visualisation on the TNC20 website. Please note that posters presentation slots will not be featured in the programme.

Applications should provide the following information:

  • Title of the poster
  • Name, affiliation, and contact information of the submitting author
  • Names, affiliations, and contact information of any additional authors
  • An abstract (max. 1 pages of A4) describing the content of the poster
  • A draft poster may also be submitted to support the abstract

Format

Please note that if you cannot meet the following requirements, we will not be able to accept your poster.

  • PDF, Power Point Presentation or PNG (one page only)
  • The poster will presented in a landscape layout format
  • 4K – optimal resolution (FullHD – minimum resolution)

Accepted posters must be submitted in the correct digital format on Monday May 25th. The organisers will make sure the poster is displayed and linked correctly, on the allocated screens in the poster area and on the website.

The following information will be required as contact details to appear next to the poster on the TNC20 website:

  • Name, affiliation, and contact information of the submitting author
  • Names, affiliations, and contact information of any additional authors
  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers

BoF (Bird of a Feather) proposals

Duration: 2 hours | Deadline: Tuesday, January 28

For TNC20 we will only offer a limited number of slots for small 2-hour meetings (BoFs). The bigger side meetings that usually take place during TNC will be selected beforehand and the organisers of these meetings will be notified by us.

Good to know:

  • The BoFs will take place on Tuesday June 9 from 8:30 – 10:30 and Thursday June 11 from 18:00 – 20:00. This is in the evening of the last conference day.
  • All requests for a BoF will be handled as a 2-hour meeting.
  • Only TNC participants may enter the venue to attend the BoF meeting.

The following criteria for evaluation will also be applied:

  • Submission for an interactive meeting and not a presentation for the main programme.
  • Submission with a clearly identified audience that will be attending TNC20.
  • Submission complete and including all the requested information.

Meeting proposals should include:

  • Title
  • Submitter’s name and affiliation
  • Meeting description
  • Intended audience
  • Estimated number of attendees
  • Technical requirements
  • Meeting format

Submitters will be notified by the beginning of February 2020.

Organising a side meeting offsite

TNC is a popular conference and brings together a large number of representatives from the NREN community.  We understand that this is a natural time to have meetings and appreciate the demand from the community, but unfortunately, due to the limited number of rooms, and the large number of requests, we will not be able to support all side meetings.

If you would like to organise a side meeting, you will be able to do this offsite, at another meeting venue in Brighton. To help you with this, please find TNC20 side meeting locations including details.

We kindly ask that all side meetings are arranged outside of the main conference programme, on Monday June 8 and Friday June 12, the days before and after the conference. Only when your side meeting is organised on the advised days, we can include the side meeting in the TNC20 schedule on the website.

Ad-hoc Meeting Space

At TNC20, a room will be made available for ad-hoc meetings. A sign-up system will be on first-come, first-served basis. You will only be able to sign up for a meeting slot during the conference. If this system meets your needs, please consider using it instead of applying for a formal side meeting space.

Demonstration proposals

Duration: 30 minutes | Deadline: Tuesday, January 28

The Demonstrations track is an opportunity for researchers, developers and partners to present their services, innovative prototypes, practical developments, on-going projects, lessons learned and recent results  that are relevant to the conference’s topics of interest. All submitters will be notified by the end of January 2020.

Demonstrations will be possible throughout the conference (during breaks) in a dedicated area. Each accepted demonstration will be assigned 1 slot of 30 minutes each.
