The Conference is for new subject leaders and those that need a full understanding of the computing curriculum. 

1300: Welcome and introductions

1305: Keynote: Computing Quality Framework - delivered by James Radburn, West Midlands Primary Lead

The National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE) Computing Quality Framework is  intended to help schools review their progress in developing the computing curriculum.

This session will take you through each dimension and how your local computing hub can help you gain the accreditation.

1a: Formative and summative digital quizzes - delivered by Paul Gerrie, West Midlands Primary Lead

This session will look at a variety of useful online tools for formative and summative assessment in computing with hands on demonstrations.

1b: Enriching the computing curriculum - delivered by James Radburn, West Midlands Primary Lead

This session will explore how we can enrich the computing curriculum across all areas of school life. From resources to assemblies to how to get STEM ambassadors in to talk about careers in Computing.

1c: Evidencing computing with Seesaw - delivered by Sarah Vaughan, Central and North Midlands Primary Lead

This session will look at how to use the free tool Seesaw to evidence both digital and unplugged computing lessons from EYFS – Year 6

1440 - 1530: choose one of the following workshops to attend (TEAMS links will be provided in joining instructions)

2a: Deep dive in computing - delivered by Paul Gerrie, West Midlands Primary Lead

This session will focus on what a deep dive by Ofsted will look like in Computing. Focussing on the 3 Is, we’ll consider the evidence to support the quality of education.

2b: Physical computing - delivered by James Radburn, West Midlands Primary Lead

This session will explore age appropriate physical computing resources to use across the primary age phase.

2c: Pedagogical approaches for computing - delivered by Sarah Vaughan, Central and North Midlands Primary Lead

This session will look at the 12 principles of computing pedagogy and how to effectively embed these in your school setting.
