CMT Roundup: New Music From Morgan Evans, HunterGirl, Tanya Tucker, Catie Offerman and more

Check out CMT's Roundup playlist at the end of this story

There are a lot of broken hearts and a little bit of healing in new country songs this week. Morgan Evans sings about his divorce. Tanya Tucker shares her perspective on outliving her friends, and Catie Offerman tries to move on. Just like the weather, relationships have seasons and this week's playlist explores all of them.

Morgan Evans, "Over For You": Morgan Evans took the stage in Australia a few weeks ago amid the news of his divorce from Kelsea Ballerini and broke hearts, just as he was shattered, with his new song "Over For You." He sat at the piano and vulnerably sang: "How many times did you say you loved me when it wasn't true? I'm just wondering, how long has it been over for you?"

Evans wrote the song with Madison Love, Geoff Warburton and One Love, and fan reaction was so strong it demanded a rush-release of the track.

"It would be easier if I hated you, but I still miss the person I thought I knew," he sang.

"I recorded this vocal on the same day we wrote the song," Evans explained in a statement. "It was a difficult time in my life and writing this helped me process a lot of what I was going through. I'd like to thank everyone that has reached out the last few weeks, both those with messages of support and those sharing their own stories."

While the song's live version was released last week, the studio version is now available.

Tanya Tucker, "Ready As I'll Never Be": Written by Tucker and Brandi Carlile, "Ready As I'll Never Be" is an original song from the film "The Return of Tanya Tucker featuring Brandi Carlile."

The lyrics explore Tucker's reality of watching her fellow country stars pass away and having to provide humor and comfort to those left behind – and the toll it takes on her.

Lyrics include: So gather around him| It's time to sing| It's bittersweet, but it's a hell of a silver lining|I tell the same ol' stories| Y'all get your wings| And I get better every time I kiss a weathered cheek| And watch them doves fly| Sooner than me| I guess I'm ready or ready as I'll never be

The song was produced by Brandi Carlile and Shooter Jennings and mixed by Trina Shoemaker. Carlile, along with her frequent collaborators Phil Hanseroth and Tim Hanseroth, sing on the song that walks the line of celebration, foreboding, gratitude and regret.

Catie Offerman, "Til I See You Again": Fast-rising country star Cattie Offerman is saying what every heartbroken person thinks in her latest release, "Til I See You Again." The Texas native co-wrote the relatable single alongside critically acclaimed songsmiths Ryan Beaver and Jessi Alexander. The protagonist within the track finds themselves running back to a former lover, even after finding the courage to move forward.

"And I'll be back on my feet and moving on | Feeling pretty good about being alone | Dancing and singing my freedom song, stronger than ever | I'll be bartender fill up my empty glass," sings Offerman. "Things are looking up, not looking back | Laughing so much nobody asks if we're still together | Now I'm in such a better place | Never was real love anyway | Yeah, we were meant to be friends | 'Til I see you again, 'til I see you again."

Offerman describes the Dann Huff-produced song as a "classic repeat offender situation." Her old-world country sound drives the twisted tale and the fiddle break before the last verse, is destined to give listeners the confidence to strut away from the toxic relationship.

"You swear him off, and say that you're over him – and you say 'never again.' 'Til you see him again, and you're right back in it," explained the songstress. "It's crazy how best intentions fly right out the window as soon as that someone walks into the room."

HunterGirl, "Hometown Out Of Me": On the heels of becoming the runner-up on the hit competition show "American Idol," HunterGirl inked a record deal and released her label debut "Hometown Out Of Me." The promising new artist joined forces with world-renowned songwriter Laura Veltz and worked alongside producer Jimmy Robbins to cultivate the heartfelt track. Not only does the mid-tempo melody display her soaring vocals and superstar potential, but it serves as a thank-you letter to her hometown of Winchester, Tennessee.

"I'm never gonna not think | Heaven's at the end of | Daddy's little gravel road | I'm never gonna not be |The same old same me |Everybody back there knows |An apple's still an apple when it's nowhere near the tree," she sings. "You can take me out of my hometown | But you can't take my hometown out of me."

The mellow instrumentals emphasize her soulful storytelling and traditional country approach. HunterGirl is slated to hit the road with her unmatched talents next weekend (Oct. 27), as she will be embarking on a co-headlining tour with winner Noah Thompson.
