Spring Term Newsletter 2021 Ysgol Gatholig Mair Ddihalog

Croeso nôl/Welcome back

Welcome back to you all after what we hope was a relaxing break for you and your families. Even with the restrictions, from what the children have told me Santa managed to deliver all of his presents on time! I would like to wish you all a very happy and healthy new year.

Schools regularly find themselves in a very frustrating situation recently, finding out about changes to education via social media sites or the news. We will keep you updated as we hear about any further developments about the forthcoming weeks via our Twitter page and website. Thank you for you patience.

On behalf of the staff at Mary Immaculate and myself, thank you for your messages of support and of thanks at this time. We look forward to continuing to work with you to provide the best possible experiences for our pupils. Within this newsletter there are some updates, key dates and links to great resources such as free Audible books for all.

Thank you for completing the parent feedback form and for all that you are doing with you children at this time. Please stay in touch with your child's/children's class teacher over the coming weeks. If you haven't already done so, please complete the form on the link below:

We will be asking the children in the next few weeks about their experience of distance learning and, as always, ask for their input into their learning experiences. The teachers will phone home at least every few weeks as well as be online every weekday.

We pray for those families who have been, and continue to be, affected by this terrible virus.

Stay in Touch - Stay Safe - Keep Smiling

RELIGIOUS LIFE OF THE SCHOOL

As a Catholic School in the Diocese of Menevia, we have embraced the Catholic Schools’ Pupil Profile, which teaches the children a set of eight pairs of virtues to be understood and nurtured - enabling them to grow in wholeness as fully rounded individuals in the image of God. The pairs of virtues are:

  • Grateful and generous
  • Attentive and discerning
  • Compassionate and loving
  • Faith-filled and hopeful
  • Eloquent and truthful
  • Learned and wise
  • Curious and active
  • Intentional and prophetic

They will change every half-term; this half-term the virtues are 'Grateful and Generous'. The Department of Spiritual Life will have a part to play in the promotion of these values even in the current situation we find ourselves in. We look forward to launching the virtue competition next week!

Please see the curriculum letters from each class regarding curriculum RE lesson content.
