16 Days Past Present and Future: Find Out How the Campaign Started by Gender-Based Violence AoR published on 2021-11-11T12:01:54Z Thirty years ago, the first 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence was held and acted as a rallying point for groups and individuals who campaign on this issue. The idea started at the Center for Women’s Global Leadership (CWGL) at Rutgers University. Since 1991, over 6,000 organizations in 187 countries have taken part in activities, and the momentum of the activities continues to grow. Professor Charlotte Bunch of the Centre for Women’s Global Leadership was one of the founders of the first 16 Days Campaign and agreed for an interview for a special podcast entitled, The 16 Days, Past, Present, and Future. She is a prolific campaigner and writer of over 250 articles and books on topics ranging from women’s leadership, feminism, peace, human rights, and human security.
