Marcella Veronesi

About Me

Marcella Veronesi is a Full Professor in Applied Economics at the Climate Economics and Risk Management Section of the Department of Technology, Management, and Economics, Technical University of Denmark, and an Associate Professor in Economic Policy at the Department of Economics, University of Verona

She is listed as one of the world´s top 7% female economists, and has been appointed as a member of the expert database of outstanding female academics. She is a co-editor of Environmental and Resource Economics, an editorial board member of the European Review of Agricultural Economics, and a member of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) evaluation bodies.

She received her Ph.D. and M.S. from the University of Maryland, has been a senior researcher and lecturer at the Institute for Environmental Decisions, ETH Zurich, and a Research Affiliate at the Center for Development and Cooperation (NADEL), ETH Zurich. 

Her research fields are applied microeconomics, environmental economics, behavioral economics, and health economics. In particular, her research in four continents and 13 countries applies experimental, survey, and quasi-experimental methods to topics related to the economics of health and the environment, climate change adaptation and education, renewable energy technology adoption, food security in developing countries, and the non-market valuation of public goods. Her research has appeared in The Economist, Financial Times, BBC, and Freakonomics, among others.
