Many of the University services will be closed for the May bank holiday on 27 and 28 May.
We know that many of you may stay in Sheffield during these dates so please be assured we still have a range of services and support available.
Urgent help
If you require urgent help there are security staff available 24/7. To contact them please call ext. 2000 on internal phones or 0114 225 2000 if calling from an external line.
Supporting your wellbeing
There are lots of support and resources available to support your mental health and wellbeing.
Our Student Wellbeing Service page provides information, advice and practical support to help you manage your studies and make the most of university life.
Our online self help service Togetherall, is free for students at Hallam. You can log in with your student email address.
Library and Skills Centre
Our two campus libraries remain open 24/7.
The Library Skills Centre will be closed on 27 and 28 May - online resources and session recordings are availableonline. Library Chat will continue to be available 24/7 as part of the library online.
Studiosity, a free online writing feedback and live chat service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and is open to all students
Careers and employability
You can access our Careers and Employability website anytime for digital support with applications and other careers related queries.
Student-led social activities
The International Experience Team has an on-going programme of events and activities. See what’s going on.
Students' Union
Hallam Students’ Union will close for the bank holidays. For support over that period, visit their onlinehelp and support resources or contact one of their listed external support providers.
The Multifaith Chaplaincy
Whilst the Multifaith Chaplaincy is closed during the bank holiday periods, there are plenty of things going on in local faith communities.
IT support
During the University’s closure period, if you have an urgent query you can still contact our out-of-hours service on 0114 225 3333 all day, every day.
You can also report issues, or submit requests, using our self-service portal which will be dealt with when the University reopens. You can find more information on the IT and Library services tab.
Technical Operations Resources and Services
Technical facilities will be closed during the bank holiday closure periods. There will be no access to specialist technical support or spaces during this time.
Hallam Active
Both Collegiate and City gyms will be closed on 27 May for the bank holiday. On 28 May Collegiate Campus gym, Sports Park and SHUCAS will be open. Head over to our home workout page whilst we’re closed. Keeping active at home.
Catering
All our catering outlets will be closed on 27 and 28 May.
During this period you can still access vending machines and facilities to microwave food. You can find the locations and information on our Vending and Microwaves page.
