Story
ABF The Soldiers' Charity hosts the Festival of Remembrance each year at Durham Cathedral. Unfortunately, the format of this year's event has had to be modified to take account of the current pandemic and the restrictions imposed. However, Remembrance remains an important cornerstone of our great Nation's history.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We will remember them.
It is not possible to have a physical audience at the event. However we still wish to mark the occasion appropriately, and share it widely via our social media channels. The film will be pre-recorded (to allow for socially distanced sequencing) and streamed on Saturday 7th November at 7:30 pm.
Our service will be led by The Band of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, and will include a limited Muster and the Act of Remembrance. In addition, there will be music from the Pipes and Drums of 102 Battalion REME, acclaimed soloist Mr John Rowland, and Enter CIC.
When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today.
Local businesses have generously sponsored the filming of the event but we would be extremely grateful for any additional donations to support the work of ABF The Soldiers' Charity. The Charity will use any funds raised to help soldiers, veterans and their immediate families in times of genuine need. Thank you for your support.
