Exolaunch is headed to #Africa! 🌍🛰 Our first client from the continent, the Kenya Space Agency, has awarded Exolaunch a Launch Services Agreement for their #Taifa-1 #smallsat. Taifa-1 is set to reach sun-synchronous orbit aboard SpaceX's Falcon 9 Transporter-7 mission in early 2023. Taifa-1 (meaning “One Nation” in Swahili) is designed and developed by SayariLabs in partnership with EnduroSat under KSA’s guidance. Its mission is to provide the Kenyan government with critical multi-spectral imagery to help combat the ongoing drought, wildfires and other natural disasters endangering the East Africa region. #Exolaunch is set to integrate, launch and deploy Taifa-1 via #EXOpod, the most widely used #cubesat deployer on the market. We are also providing end-to-end mission management, environmental testing and Falcon 9 integration services to ensure Taifa-1 arrives safely in orbit and carries out its all-important mission. Exolaunch has so far deployed over 100 satellites on SpaceX's first five rideshare Transporter missions via its Multi-Launch Agreement with SpaceX, providing the essential link between satellite developer and launch provider for a wide range of global companies and space agencies. We are honored to now include Kenya on our list of customers! 🇩🇪🇰🇪 #KenyaSpaceAgency #earthobservation #spaceinfrastructure

The countdown begins for our first launch with NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration aboard Rocket Lab’s upcoming mission! ⏰🚀 🛰️ With a 12U nanosatellite bus built by our friends at Kongsberg NanoAvionics, the #NASA Advanced Composite Solar Sail System (ACS3) mission is a tech demo to test new structures for solar sail propulsion systems, which rely on sunlight for propulsion. Our flight-proven EXOpod deployer has already been integrated with Electron and will be soon deploying the ACS3 into orbit. Once in orbit, the mission aims to test the deployment of lightweight booms to unfurl a solar sail measuring about 30 feet per side, with potential applications including #space weather monitoring #satellites, #asteroid reconnaissance, and solar observation missions. 🚀 The launch window for the “Beginning Of The Swarm” mission is scheduled to open April 24 at 21:30 UTC from Māhia, New Zealand. Stay tuned as we get closer to launch! 📸 : Rocket Lab

In case you missed it, a total solar eclipse will cross North America on Monday! According to NASA, totality will start at 11:07am PDT off the Pacific coast of Mexico, and leave Maine at 3:30pm EDT. This will be the last time to view a total solar eclipse in the continental US for approximately 20 years! Exolaunch's very own Chief Technology Officer, Robert W. Sproles, Ph.D., appeared on two radio shows to discuss the upcoming eclipse! Listen here: 🎙️ https://bit.ly/3J5zy47 🎙️ https://bit.ly/3PVlFJt
