The IOMC participated at the 4th Meeting of the "intersessional process considering the Strategic Approach and sound management of chemicals and waste beyond 2020 (IP-4)" in Bucharest, Romania from 29 August-2 September 2022. Of particular interest to the IOMC were issues related to indicators for the new instrument, managing existing policy issues (EPIs), the need for meaningful multisectoral engagement, and advancing integrated chemicals and waste management. Preceding IP-4, the IOMC hosted a workshop on "Strengthening integrated chemicals and waste management: how can a future framework beyond 2020 ensure effective engagement of all key stakeholders?”. The IOMC looks forward to further advancing discussions at the next meeting of the process.
