The Health Services and Delivery Research Programme has changed its name
The programme is now called the Health and Social Care Delivery Research (HSDR) Programme. The programme's remit has expanded over time, with many of its commissioned research programmes seeking research proposals on topics related to social care.

Jo Rycroft Malone, HSDR programme director said: “It is a major milestone and more accurately acknowledges the hugely important research the programme commissions and funds in this area”.    
From the RDS desk - Is research really for everyone?
The definition and scope of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) is often misunderstood, and limited to only considering ethnicity and gender. In reality, EDI is about involving so many more groups, and avoiding potential language barriers and digital exclusion.

We are looking for seven new Chairs for NIHR Academy Selection Committees to support the delivery of our competitions, chair committee meetings, and work with the NIHR Academy to develop schemes ensuring they remain relevant, and achieve their objectives.
Webinar: Expanding diversity in research approaches for multiple long-term conditions    

The Programme Grants for Applied Research and Programme Development Grants team are holding a webinar on 9 December 2021, to outline their new highlight notice calling for varied research approaches to address multiple long-term conditions.  
NIHR announces package of funding for research on climate and health at COP26    

The NIHR will launch a new sustainability-themed package of funding for research into climate and health, including a £20 million global health funding call, NIHR Chief Executive Professor Lucy Chappell announced at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26).
Outstanding Clinical Radiology Researcher of 2021

The NIHR and the Royal College of Radiologists have presented this year’s award to Dr Jonathan Rodrigues, a member of the NIHR Imaging Group Workforce Subcommittee, and Imaging Champion for West of England LCRN. Read more about the award and Dr Rodrigues’ work.
New Open Access policy for NIHR-funded researchers    

The NIHR has announced its new Open Access policy, requiring all peer-reviewed research articles arising from NIHR-funded research studies to be made immediately open access, under an open licence.
