Prince Andrew had a bed piled high with ’50 or 60′ stuffed toys and animals and would become ‘verbally abusive’ if maids messed them up, an ex-royal guard has claimed.

Former protection officer Paul Page, who worked in the Royalty and Specialist Protection Command for six years, had access to the private quarters of the Duke of York between 1998 and 2004.

In a bombshell interview with Ranvir Singh for the upcoming ITV documentary, Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile, Mr Page revealed how the royal would ‘shout and scream’ if servants did not put them back in the correct order.

He said: ‘It had about 50 or 60 stuffed toys positioned on the bed.

‘Basically, there was a card the inspector showed us in a drawer and it was a picture of these bears all in situ.

‘The reason for the laminated picture was if those bears weren’t put back in the right order by the maids, he would shout and scream, and become verbally abusive.’

Writer Elizabeth Day – another source close to the Royal Family – said she was also introduced to the ‘strange’ collection at Buckingham Palace in 2019.

By her own account, she remembered it seemed ‘rather strange that a grown man should be so amused by a stuffed toy’.

Mr Page also told ITV he suspected that Prince Andrew and the now disgraced British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell were ‘intimate’ due to the frequency of her visits to the Palace.

He said: ‘From the way she was allowed to enter and exit the palace at will, we suspected that she may have had an intimate relationship with Prince Andrew.’

As Maxwell awaits sentencing in New York, ITV says the interview ‘unravels the story of how an entitled daughter of a billionaire sank into shame and disgrace through her friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein’.

It will also explore how Andrew became embroiled in the international scandal as he faces his own civil court case brought by Virginia Giuffre.

The 38-year-old woman alleges she was sexually assaulted by the Queen’s second son when she was 17. Andrew has vehemently denied any wrongdoing.

The latest revelations come just days after the Queen stripped the prince of his military titles and royal patronages.

It is understood he was summoned by his mother on Thursday and told of her decision following an emergency summit with Prince William at Windsor Castle.

Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile will be aired on ITV on Tuesday at 9pm.

Prince Andrew declined to comment on the claims made during the interview.
