Boris Johnson has conducted a highly-anticipated Cabinet reshuffle this afternoon.
No 10 confirmed the news earlier today, with a spokesperson saying: ‘The PM will today conduct a reshuffle to put in place a strong and united team to Build Back Better from the pandemic.
‘The PM will be appointing ministers this afternoon with a focus on uniting and levelling up the whole country.’
Liz Truss has been appointed Foreign Secretary in the dramatic reshaping of Mr Johnson’s top team.
Mr Johnson demoted Dominic Raab, who has been widely criticised for his handling of the Afghanistan crisis, moving him from the Foreign Office to the Ministry of Justice but also handing him the title Deputy Prime Minister.
While Mr Raab retains his seat at the Cabinet table, the Prime Minister sacked Gavin Williamson, Robert Jenrick and Robert Buckland.
