Mark Fortney

I’m an Assistant Professor in Philosophy at Dalhousie University.

My current research is about the relationships between attention, well-being, and moral cultivation. One particular question I’m thinking about is how protect ourselves from the negative impacts of the “attention economy”. My research draws on South & East Asian Buddhism as well as the work of Simone Weil, Iris Murdoch, and William James.
