Storage Updates and Best Practices for Remote Production Workflows

ELEMENTS is organising a series of web sessions between 27th and 29th April, where we will introduce the ELEMENTS 3rd Party Storage Qualification Programme and showcase the latest innovations in media storage workflows. Learn more about remote editing of the future, the ELEMENTS media storage ecosystem and its recent updates, collaborative workflows with the ELEMENTS Media Library and how to benefit from workflow automation. We have prepared four different sessions for you.

1. ELEMENTS Storage Overview and Updates

In the first session, we would like to give you an overview of the ELEMENTS ecosystem and provide insights into our storage products, solutions and its recent updates. Get to know the new centrepiece of your facility, which is so much more than just storage. The experts at ELEMENTS will explain how human-centered storage can elevate your workflows to the next level. We will talk about the Media Library, our powerful Media Asset Management tool, as well as the use of NVMe in media and entertainment, advantages of network based storage protocols and hybrid cloud technologies. We will also take a look at the status quo in the media and entertainment industry in 2021 – what are the current opportunities and risks?

2. Remote post-production and best practices

We have always been developing great solutions for decentralised collaborative workflows in video production. Last year we introduced ELEMENTS Satellite, a new way of remote video editing with superb-quality 4K 60FPS video, achievable from anywhere in the world – with amazing responsiveness, in-sync audio and a great set of security features that even got more powerful with the recent update. In this session we will discuss different approaches, functions and tools to help your remote editing workflows. We’ll help you setting up a productive remote post-production and make the most of it, even after the pandemic.

3. 3rd Party Storage Qualification Programme

In these sessions we will be joined by guest co-hosts to discuss the efficient integration of 3rd party storage into the ELEMENTS platform. It allows you to easily add ELEMENTS features and tools on top of a qualified 3rd party storage environment. As a part of the ELEMENTS Qualification Programme the integration of 3rd party storage will be extensively tested and documented.

3.1 Integration of ELEMENTS with Quantum StorNext 7 storage (co-hosted)

Together with our guest from Quantum we will show you how to integrate ELEMENTS tools and features such as the Media Library, Workflow Automation tools, user permission management and many more with your existing Quantum storage. We will also discuss the all new StorNext 7, tiering mechanisms, cloud integration and utilisation and the StorNext Manager.

3.2 Integration of ELEMENTS with Dell EMC OneFS storage (co-hosted)

In this session we will be joined by our guest from Dell EMC. Together we will discuss the possibilities of merging ELEMENTS tools and features such as the Media Library, Workflow Automation tools, user permission management and many more with the Dell EMC Isilon storage. We will also elaborate on how Dell EMC storage can be used and managed through the ELEMENTS UI, as well as using Avid Bin Locking, starting Automation jobs or even using the ELEMENTS Media Library.
