Electronic Waste/Document-Shredding Event takes place Saturday, July 14

ewaste2

The City of Benbrook is hosting a FREE event for Benbrook residents to recycle electronic and appliance items and to shred documents on Saturday, July 14, from 8:00am-12:00pm at Dutch Branch Park, 1899 Winscott Road, in the rear parking lot located behind the Par 3 Golf Course. Follow the signs off Winscott Road to Beach Road (event takes place in the same location as the Household Hazardous Waste events).

As a rule of thumb, if it can be plugged in, it can be recycled. The following is a list of common items that citizens can bring for recycling:

  • Televisions (any size)/Radios/Telephones
  • Computers/Monitors/Printers (Innovative Electronics destroys the hard drives)
  • Fax Machines/Copiers
  • Microwave ovens/Dishwashers/Washers/Dryers/Refrigerators
  • Gaming Systems (X-Box, Playstations, etc.)
  • Vacuum Cleaners
  • VCR's
  • Smoke Detectors
  • Batteries

Please limit shredding to a reasonable household amount. No large quantities of business documents. Please do not place plastic materials such as credit cards or compact discs with documents to be shredded. Shredding will take place from 8:00am-12:00pm, or until the shred truck is full.

For more information, contact City Hall at 817-249-3000.
