Why Art is Important for Children
(isn't it important for us all?!)

Rosetta DeBerardinis

Guest artist, Rosetta DeBerardinis, is a visual artist who creates paintings ranging in size up to 9 feet, urban drawings, three-dimensional works using re-purposed materials and wearable art accessories. She has exhibited in galleries and museums nationally and internationally with works in both permanent public and private collections, including the D.C. Art Bank Collection; Chiang Hai International Airport, China; Verizon Center; P & C Bank; Marriott Marquis D.C. Hotel; Microsoft Corp, and others. The native New Yorker,  is a graduate of Vassar College and holds two advanced degrees and has studied abroad. Her work has garnered grants, awards, residencies and publication in both print and digital media. In 2003, she was nominated by art historian Barbara Rose and David Rubin and other jurors to represent the United States as a lifetime member on its team for the Florence, Italy Biennale. DeBerardinis has recently been offered acceptance at the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts to began her PhD in art history.
