This month we share the exciting news that applications are now open for our Local Leaders of Mathematics Education Programmes for 2024/25 and we're hosting an online pop-up event on Thursday 15th February at 3.45pm.

We've also included the latest episode of the NCETM Maths Podcast, titled 'I Can't Do Maths'. In part 3, they explore responses to the common question: 'When will I ever need this again?'


And there is still time to apply for our 2023/24 Years 5-8 Continuity Work Group, focused on enhancing the transition from primary to secondary school.

The NCETM Maths Podcast- I Can't Do Maths!
All 3 parts of the NCETM latest Podcast are now available, challenging myths about maths teaching and learning with Professors Alf Coles and Nathalie Sinclair. In the final part of the podcast they discuss topics including maths anxiety and enjoyment in the UK compared to other nations, how to support and encourage children who struggle with maths and how to respond when children ask, ‘When will I ever need this again?’.
