Sector News

Consortium are excited to launch a new Communications focused members’ network. The network will be open to anybody working on communications within a member organisation, and will offer a chance to share information, collaborate and support one another.

We are keen for the network to be shaped by its members, and will be holding an introductory meeting on Monday 28th March at 12.30pm.

The introductory meeting will be take the form of an open discussion about what members would like from this network and what Consortium can do to support the development of our members’ and sector communications.

You can register for the meeting here

If you are unable to attend on Monday 28th and would like to send in any suggestions or questions about this new network, please email our Communications Officer, Leo at: leo@consortium.lgbt

We are delighted to welcome Philippa (She/her) to the team!

Philippa began her role with Consortium in January 2022 as the LGBT+ Development officer for the NHS Rainbow Badges programme, working to support Consortium members who are looking to develop closer working relationships with their local NHS Trusts, and signpost NHS Trusts to local specialist LGBT+ services.

We warmly invite our London members to 2022’s first in-person London networking event in Central London. This will be an event where reconnection will be in focus, and we will have a relaxed programme to enable members to build relationships with other member groups as well as the Consortium team.

LBT Women's Health Week 2022 Events

We are halfway through LBT Women's Health Week! Held from 7th-11th March, LBT Women's Health Week is a week aimed at lesbian, bisexual and trans women, and frontline workers and healthcare providers who work with them. Occasionally, our events cover topics that are widely considered to be "women's" health issues, such as as fertility, menopause, menstruation, cervical health, etc. We recognise that such issues are not limited to cis women, and that some trans men, non-binary & intersex people may relate to these experiences. Therefore, some of our events of this nature indicate that they are appropriate for women and anybody who may experience the specific health issue (e.g. "women and people who experience menopause"). We welcome trans men, non-binary & intersex people to attend our events when the event is indicated this way, however please only do so if you feel comfortable. Events without this indicator are intended for only cis and trans women.

All events are free and for LBT women and professionals who work with them.

Discounted charity insurance for Consortium Members

Consortium Members benefit from specialist support on insurance products from Scrutton Bland Insurance Brokers. The carefully tailored cover often results in savings on premiums. As we approach the end of the financial year, you may be looking to renew or update your charity insurance.

Insurance is an essential purchase for voluntary sector organisations, but you don't want to spend any more on it than you have to. Consortium is working with Scrutton Bland Insurance Group to offer our members a specialised service with brokers who understand that the charity/not for profit insurance market can be difficult.

More information about this offer is available on your Dashboard:
