Welcome to our October 2023 Newsletter!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our annual consultation this year. Your ideas, thoughts, and feedback are incredibly valuable to us. It's through your input that we continue to evolve and improve our provision.

We can't wait to implement the changes and enhancements to our services in response to your feedback over the coming weeks and months.
Together, we're making Proud 2 b Parents even better!

Research support -
Research at the University of York has been exploring solutions for loneliness felt by people when they are expecting a baby or in the first few years after they become parents. Representing LGBTQ+ voices is really important to us and we are running a focus group on Thursday November 2nd at 8pm, with Proud 2 b Parents. We will be asking for feedback on the research findings, and to hear your ideas about how to tackle loneliness. You'll be given a £20 shopping voucher to thank you for your time. Please register your interest via info@proud2bparents.co.uk

Dates for Your Diary!

Families through Adoption,  Digital Meet up

Date:
Thursday 19th October
Time: @8pm
Digital: via zoom
Status: Booking required, please email for link

Here at Proud 2 b Parents we recognise that it is important that families through adoption have an opportunity to connect, share stories, and offer support to one another. We understand the unique joys and challenges of being LGBT+ parents through adoption, and this is a space to share these experiences and feed into some of the work that is happening both locally and nationally through partnership work.

At this meeting, we can organise an opportunity for us and others to come together for a  face-to-face meet-up in the coming weeks, where our children can have some time together and we can carry on the conversations. Any questions about this event? Please don't hesitate to give the team an email on info@proud2bparents.co.uk

Need to cancel your place on an activity?

Where possible, please give as much notice as you can if you can’t attend any activities and only cancel a booking for good reason.

We want to make sure that every space on our activities is used so families receive the full benefit of all meet-ups. Repeated short-notice cancellations from the same family may mean that we are no longer able to offer them a space on bookable activities.
As a result of requests from our families we are pleased to announce that we have created an online calendar to show the dates for our #meetups in advance. This can be accessed on our website: https://www.proud2bparents.co.uk/calendar
We're pleased to continue our partnership with Queer Lit whereby anything bought through a special link on their online store will result in a 10% kickback donation to Proud 2 b Parents. Please support a local independent LGBT+ led business and us at the same time by visiting: https://www.queerlit.co.uk/?ref=P2bP
