This guidance explains the main features of UK Economic Interest Groupings (UKEIG) and sets out the main differences between the UKEIG and European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG) corporate forms.

This guidance will apply if you’re:

  • registered as a UKEIG following conversion from an EEIG
  • thinking of becoming a member or manager of a UKEIG and looking for basic guidance on your filing requirements
  • establishing a UK office for an EEIG whose official address is outside of the UK

Any EEIGs still registered in the UK from 1 January 2021 have been automatically converted to a UKEIG.

The legislative changes for EEIGs can be found in The European Economic Interest Grouping (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018.
