Devon Infection Prevention Festival 18th to 22nd October 2021

Infection prevention and control is still an important part of public health and safety. Join us in celebrating the importance of infection prevention as part of International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW)18th to 22nd October 2021.

We will be running a number of events and activities throughout the week that are FREE to join, suitable for all settings.

The week is a collaboration lead by the Devon County Council, Plymouth City Council and Torbay Council Infection Prevention Practitioners together with Environmental Health Officer from across Devon, Torbay and Plymouth, and the Community Infection Management Service.

During International Infection Prevention Week you can enter the virtual tent at a time that suits you. They will be 'open' for a 2 hour slot between 18th and 22nd October, daily at 9am, 1pm and 5pm

• To know when to act - it’s always important to be aware of where the germ danger is coming from!

What's gloves got to do with it?

• When is PPE needed and how to use it safely and effectively and skin health

• Fresh clean air is vital to good health and can help reduce infection risks

Are you ready for winter?

• Typically we see increases of noro and flu - are ready?

• Antibiotic resistance remains one of the biggest threats facing us today. Find out what you can do to help tackle this thereat
