CARBON COUNTING METHODS & THE TRANSITION TO NET ZERO FOR ORGANISATIONS
About the Project
With global warming and climate change on the rise, many governments around the world are looking at methods to transition towards a more sustainable and greener future. This is no different in the UK where there is ambition to achieve net zero by 2050. To achieve this, most people would assume that installing more renewables or developing innovative technologies is enough, however this is not the case. Much of these carbon emissions exist in our current practices and these can be easily fixed.

In this project we aim to develop a generic methodology that organisations can follow, to breakdown and highlight key variables that may be overlooked that exist in the social workplace. We want to quantify these carbon emissions through developing a user-friendly carbon calculator which would allow organisations to fully assess and visualise the carbon situation. We will then demonstrate these strategies using a case study on a football club who recently came into contact with the University of Strathclyde – Caledonian Braves.
