Who is this for?

This resource is for volunteers who have a role where they may come in contact with people affected by cancer. You could be a direct services volunteer in someone's home or an information centre. Or you may be a fundraising volunteer talking to people at a collection or event.

Learning Objectives

After working through this resource:

  • Volunteers will understand what Macmillan means when we talk about carers
  • Volunteers will understand who carers are, and why they might not themselves identify as carers
  • Volunteers will understand what support needs carers may have, and what services Macmillan has that can help them
  • Volunteers will be able to use this information to offer support to carers and signpost them to extra services in Macmillan
