Turnitin is an anti-plagiarism tool for verifying the originality of text. Its main purpose is to prevent plagiarism, so it is connected to the university's LMS Moodle.
It is designed for:
- Students who will encounter it in their classes or in diploma seminars. Access to the system and consultation of the protocol will be provided by individual lecturers via Moodle.
- Authors who wish to verify the originality of an article before publication in a professional journal. Access to the system and consultation on the protocol will be provided by the University Library.
IMPORTANT NOTICES
- Turnitin is most effective when checking texts in English.
- Training in English for teachers (but also for authors) - see the Education section on the intranet.
- Students, arrange a citation consultation in the library (jana.ivanegova@upce.cz) and you will not need Turnitin.
- Authors, if you only want to use Turnitin to check your article outside of Moodle and without consulting the library, please contact Ms Zaan Bester from the Language Centre. She will make all the necessary arrangements with Turnitin company.
