INTIMATE

ACCOMPONG MAROON FESTIVAL

Date: Jan 6, 2023

Venue: Accompong Town, St. Elizabeth

This annual cultural event celebrates over 200 years since the signing of the peace treaty between Maroons and the British. This year’s festival seeks to shine the spotlight on the life of the heroic Maroons through singing, dancing, storytelling, cooking and more. ​ The festival marks the victory of the First Maroon War against the British in which they fought for their freedom, led by their hero Cudjoe

 

ACCOMPONG MAROON FESTIVAL

Venue: Grizzly’s Plantation Cove, Priory, St. Ann

Every January, Organic H.E.A.R.T Group of Companies hosts its annual musical festival, Rebel Salute, birthed by international Reggae Superstar, Tony Rebel. Described as a modern indigenous work of art that goes from dusk ‘til dawn for two days, the festival focuses on displaying Jamaican music in all forms- roots Reggae, dancehall, ska, mento, rocksteady- before the largest and most discerning audience of any music festival in the Caribbean. Complemented by a diverse lineup of performing Acts from all over the world (including, England, Germany, African states), Rebel Salute boasts a massive cultural food village, Jamaican Arts village and the famous Herb Curb.


FEBRUARY

 

SANGICOR SIGNMA CORPORATE RUN

Date: February TBA

Venue: Kingston

The Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run is a unique road-running event designed to inspire fun, fitness and camaraderie among Jamaica’s business community. ​ 2023 will mark the 25th Anniversary of the staging of the Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run.

Since the start of this charity road race, over $450 million dollars has been donated to numerous beneficiaries with a focus on health, child related and educational initiatives. ​ The Sagicor SIGMA Corporate Run remains focused on providing vital support to health and child-related initiatives in Jamaica. The Beneficiary of the 2022 Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run is the Kingston Public Hospital.

 

BOB MARLEY CELEBRATIONS

Date: February 1-6, 2023

Venue: Island-wide

A long week of activities will take place throughout the island to celebrate the life and achievements of legendary superstar the Rt. Hon. Robert Nesta 'Bob' Marley, O.M. ​ Activities in Jamaica usually vary from year to year. ​

The celebrations usually take the form of a service at the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and ceremonial laying of plaques at the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston, music concert, symposiums, lectures, karaoke contests, fashion show, movies and exhibitions. ​ Many of the events take place at the Bob Marley Museum

REGGAE MONTH CELEBRATIONS

Date: February 1-28, 2023

Venue: Kingston

This event has been organized since its inception in 2009 by the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA). ​ Reggae Month Celebrations are also celebrated with the support of the Ministry of Culture Gender, Entertainment and Sports.

Reggae Month is a celebration of Jamaica’s reggae music for the entire month of February. ​ The format of the celebration will include various weekly concerts, lecture series, and so much more.

 

JAMAICA JAZZ AND BLUES ESTIVAL

Date: February TBA

Venue: Physical

This festival has been the premier music festival in the Caribbean for over 20 years. After a 5-year hiatus the festival returned in 2021 virtually, only due to COVID concerns.

Having successfully presented the virtual edition to rave reviews, it is now time to truly create the magic by bringing back the much-missed Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival Special edition.

Past artistes have included Romain Virgo, Chris Martin, Lila Ike, Sevana, Arturo Tappin, Tesselated Caribbean, FreeTown Collective, Kes the Band, Jon Secada, Alicia Keyes, Crystal Gayle, Maseago, Glenis Grace and others.

 

MARCH

 

JAMAICA FAT TYRE FESTIVAL

Date: February 12-19, 2023 (TBA)

Venue: St. Mary / Ocho Rios

This is a 7 day mountain biking event designed to highlight Jamaica’s vibrant culture, unique geography and great riding! ​ The event, has sparked serious interest on several major biking blogs online and some of the top biking magazines, making Jamaica a potential contender as a great mountain biking destination. ​

Outside of the regular event, the Singletrack team isstill able to take out individuals and small groups while adhering to the Jamaican government COVID protocols related to the “Resilient Corridor.”

 

CHUKKA HANOVER CHARITIES / POLO

Date: February 20, 2023

Venue: Hanover

The event is organized by the Hanover Charities / Chukka Foundation. Polo Match will begin at 2.00 p.m., with a match of under 18 followed by adults. A prize giving is held for each match. In addition, a DJ plays for the afternoon. Some of the other fun events will include a hat competition for ladies, entertaining photo booth with amusing props and exciting auctions run by an auctioneer extraordinaire.

 

19th POETRY IN MOTION (PiM)

Date: February 27, 2023 (TBC)

Venue: Physical

PiM is an annual, charitable and Family-Friendly Community Concert which celebrates the entire spectrum of the Cultural and Performing Arts for the entire family – Celebrating - Music, Dance, Comedy, Storytelling, Fashion and Poetry.

PiM highlights young and aspiring poets and other creative Artistes, alongside established performers, both nationally and internationally.

Some of the past participants include Dr. Olive Senior, Poet Laureate of Jamaica, Owen Blakka Ellis, Prof. Clinton Hutton, Errol Dunkley, Yasus Afari, Karae Brown, Elsa ‘Video-Guru’ Joel (India), Sammoya Banton, Trudy Knockless (USA), MiK, Fabian Summerville, Prim Lewis, and Stephen Wise, plus our PiM 2022 - Golden Tongue – Poetry Challenge Awardees, among others.

 

RUN FOR FUN CRUISE TOUR & RACE

Date: March 2, 2023

Venue: Ocho Rios

Run For Fun Cruise Tours has been taking groups to the Caribbean, Alaska and Hawaii over the past several years. ​ Run For Fun Cruise Tours has been on many cruise lines including Princess, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. ​

The organizers intend to host a 5k/10k run walk in Ocho Rios on the date proposed.

 

JAMAICA BLUE MOUNTAIN COFFEE FESTIVAL

Date: March 5-6, 2023

Venue: Kingston

The 3rd annual Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee festival takes place virtually. ​ The world renowned Blue Mountain will be on show which will influence Jamaica cuisine and art. ​ With the music city of Kingston as the backdrop, it is expected to be of time learning about Jamaican food, coffee and culture along the Blue Mountain Culinary Trail, with indigenous arts and crafts showcases, Reggae music performances and tours to some of Jamaica’s best kept secrets.

 

TRILIFE 876 TRIATHLON

Date: March TBC

Venue: Negril

This event is TRILIFE876’s signature event featuring 2 loops, 2 bikes - MTB'S & road bikes and 2 courses. It offers a 750m Open Swim, 22k Ride and 5k Run (road bike only). ​ Also open events including:

  • 350m swim/22k ride/5k Run (road/mountain bike)
  • 350m swim/10k ride/2.5k Run (11-15 Age Group)
  • 70m swim/1k Ride/500m Run (6-10 Age Group)

KINGSTON CITY MARATHON (VIRTUAL)

Venue: Virtual

Started in 2013, The Kingston City Run began with a Half Marathon, 10K and 5K Charity Run. The 2021 event will be the second staging of a full, IAAF/AIMS Certified marathon and will feature a host of fun and memorable activities, which normally includes a wellness Fair & Pre-Race Party/Concert as well as a Fit Expo. ​

The organisers will take this presentation virtually which will see participants competing from anywhere in the world.

 

ISSA BOYS & GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP

Date: March TBA

Venue: National Stadium, Kingston

The Inter-secondary School Sports Association (ISSA) features competitions for girls and boys under 19 in 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m (girls only), 5000m, 4 x100m, 4 x400m and medley relays, hurdles – 110, 100m, 70m (girls only),high/long/triple jump, pole vault, discus, shotput and javelin and the heptathlon. This is a very intense and exciting week of championships.

 

BRIT JAM – 10th Anniversary

Date: March 9-13, 2023

Venue: Ocho Rios

BRT WEEKEND – JAMAICA EDITION

JAMAICA FRENZY

This is a professional, one of a kind, 5-night 6-day all-inclusive House Music Festival in Negril. JAMAICA FRENZY will offer over 20 of the very best DJ talent the House Music and Electronic Music world has to offer, along with the very best Negril, Jamaica vacation experience. APRIL

 

SHVCC INTERNATIONAL CYCLISTS THREE STAGE ROAD RACE

Date: Apr 1-3, 2023

Venue: Montego Bay

This exciting race is open to various levels of cyclists including elites and juniors. ​ The elites will race from Ocho Rios in St Ann to Agualta Vale in St Mary and back, while the juniors will go from the same starting point to Port Maria and back.

 

CARNIVAL JAMAICA EVENT SERIES

Date: Apr 12-18, 2023

Venue: Kingston & Ocho Rios (mutliple venues)

2023 will see a week of carnival events celebrated in true Jamaican style! ​ There is always something special about the costumes, music, vibe and overall festive spirit that keep calling revelers every year.

The expected bands include Bacchanal Jamaica, Jamaica Carnival, Xaymaca International, Xodus and the Ocho Rios Carnival. ​ The event is indeed a unique expression of our island spirit and showcases to the world a carnival unique to Jamaica. ​

 

DISCOVER JAMAICA BY BIKE

Date: Apr 15-18, 2023 (TBC)

Venue: Holywell

This is considered to be the Ultimate Ride as it takes you through 13 of the 14 parishes. Riders will start in Portland, and then ride to Ocho Rios, Falmouth, Montego Bay, South Coast and end in the capital City, Kingston. This will give participants an opportunity to be fully immersed in the sights, scenes and sounds of everything Jamaican. ​ Each day will allow breaks at various iconic refreshment stops such as fruit vendors, Middle Quarters, etc. This way the event highlights some of the hidden gems and the local way of life, all done on a bicycle.

Outside of the regular stops, tours will also be available in each resort area for anyone who wants to take in the scenes and experiences a little longer.

 

CARIFTA GAMES

Venue: National Stadium, Kingston

Jamaica is the most successful country at the CARIFTA Games with 770 gold medals since records began in 1990.

 

CYCLE JAMAICA – RUNAWAY BAY

Date: Apr 21-25, 2023 (TBC)

Cycle Jamaica is operated by the 37 year old company Holiday Services Ltd, a certified and licensed tour operator.
This ride is now part of an all-inclusive vacation package. Cyclists can come with their non-cycling friends, families and spouse. Rides are usually finished before midday, so there is lots of time in the afternoon to have fun in the resort or go exploring with your non cycling companions.

After the ride you have the option to do sightseeing tours whether it is climbing a 600ft waterfalls or watching your body glow in luminescent waters, there is so much to see and do here.

 

JAKE’S OFF ROAD TRIATHLON

Venue: Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth

It is the longest running triathlon in the Western hemisphere and a major event in the small fishing community of Treasure Beach. ​ This event is hosted by the world-renowned hotel, Jake's and attracts top off-road racers and enthusiasts from around the world. ​ It features a 500 meter ocean swim, a 25K (13.7M) off-road biking and a 7K (4.3M) country run.

INTERNATIONAL REGGAE & WORLD MUSIC AWARDS (IRAWMA)

Venue: National Indoor Sports Center, Kingston

IRAWMA, having been hosted by Martin's International for 39 consecutive years, is one of the longest running award events of its kind. It is hosted annually in May to acknowledge and honor the accomplishments and contributions of entertainers in various categories of reggae and world music, presenting over 30 award categories and 10 Special Awards.

JAMAICA INT’L INVIT’L ATHLETIC MEET (JIIM)

JIIM is proud to be a part of the IAAF World Challenge Series and the first stop for some of the world’s top athletes on their way to athletic stardom. It promises to be immensely exciting and competitive. ​ ​ The Events offered – IWC are determined jointly by the IAAF and the meet Organisers. ​

There are two (2) main categories for these events: ​ Core Events and Discretionary Events commonly referred to as Premium Events and Standard Events respectively. ​

 

MOBAY CITY RUN

Date: May 10, 2023

Venue: Montego Bay

The annual staging of this Run will consist of a 5K Run/Walk and a 10k Run. The aim of the Run is to provide funding and scholarships to needy students from western Jamaica to access tertiary education.

In order to continue to engage the usual and new participants, the organisers are giving persons worldwide the opportunity to participate virtually.

 

MOCHAFEST

What started in the lush landscape of Hope Gardens has transitioned to the digital space where the festival will offer unique experiences showcasing everything rum. ​ The one day event will include the usual rum infused presentations, demonstrations and product features.

THE JAMAICA OBSERVER FOOD AWARDS

Jamaica Observer has helped shape, redefine and develop the local food industry with its marquis event - the Table Talk Food Awards. ​ The Jamaica Observer Food Awards is one of the most anticipated food events in the Caribbean. This annual festival recognizes excellence in food creation, service and event décor.

 

CALABASH “FOR WORD

Date: May 27-29, 2023

Venue: Treasure Beach

Every other year, for three very intense days, Treasure Beach is transformed as the renowned Calabash Literary Festival takes over our rustic island outpost. Readings, interviews and open-mic sessions start each morning and wind-down as the sun sets.

Thousands from around the island come to see literary talents as diverse as Junot Diaz, Zadie Smith, Chigozie Obioma, Michael Ondaatje, Wole Soyinka, Billy Collins, Tishani Doshi, Edwidge Danticat, Robert Pinsky, Eleanor Catton and Salman Rushdie. There are native sons, like Booker Prize winner, Marlon James and, beloved returnees, like Paul Holdengraber, who regularly interviews festival headliners. As always, there are the two co-founders and prime movers who make the magic happen: Justine Henzell, Producer, and Kwame Dawes, Artistic Director.

 

JUNE

 

AMAICA OCHO RIOS JAZZ FESTIVAL

Date: June TBC

Venue: Kingston & Ocho Rios

This event is the oldest jazz festival in the region with events in multiple venues from Ocho Rios to Kingston. ​ ​ Over the years, the festival grew from one to eight days and became the Caribbean's complete jazz vacation, featuring the greatest names in Jamaican Jazz as well as the very best of international fare. It boasts a Youth Programme, daily free concerts, a large-scale Photo Exhibition and events large and small going on simultaneously all over the Island--Kingston, Montego Bay, Negril, Runaway Bay and Ocho Rios. It has established a "Jazz Hall of Fame" recognizing those Jamaican and Caribbean Musicians who have distinguished themselves internationally while contributing to the development of the art form.

The festival is very boastful of its local jazz musicians' involvement and has featured over 100 Jamaican musicians every year showcasing groups like The Jamaica Big Band, The Monty Alexander Trio, Jon Williams Electric Band, Dean Fraser, The Dizzy Reece Quintet, Roy "Bubbles" Burrowes Sextet, Richard White, Desi Jones, and The Billy Cooke Quartet.

 

CHARLES TOWN ​ MAROON CONFERENCE & FESTIVAL

Date: Jun 22-23, 2023

Venue: Portland

The event is an indigenous maroon conference which aims to highlight and preserve maroon history and traditions. It offers a unique combination of scholarly panels and cultural events that brings maroons and indigenous peoples together with scholars and locals to examine the ways their legacies have endured, creolized, and resonated in the Caribbean, Africa, Canada Australia, South America and Europe as well as the United Kingdom and the USA. ​

 

MISS UNIVERSE JAMAICA

Venue: Kingston

This pageant offers training programme to furnish contestants with executive and life skills, so they can perform effectively in corporate and social environments, earn a living and make significant contributions to the development of Jamaica. They unearth local talent in the performing arts and facilitate synergies within the creative industries to provide economic opportunities.

 

SHVCC INTERNATIONAL THREE STAGE ROAD RACE#

JAMAICA NATIONAL SENIOR TRIALS & JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

The four-day event will be used to select Jamaica’s team to the World Athletics Under-20 Championships and Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan this summer.

 

JULY

 

INTERNATIONAL REGGAE DAY

Venue: Virtual

This will be a 24 hour celebration of global reggae culture observed on July 1 annually. Event to have a global media reach hosted in Kingston. The objective is to celebrate the best of Jamaican creativity and is global impact using the power of music, media and communication technology to unite nations.

 

BOSTON JERK CELEBRATION

Date: Jul 10, 2023 (TBC)

Venue: Portland

This event is a celebration of our 'authentic jerk culture' which is enfolded in the community of Boston, the original home of jerk. ​ This is one of the most anticipated event that people of all ages from around the community, Jamaica and the world look forward to each year. ​ This event is complemented by good music and other Jamaican product on show.

 

CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Venue: Kingston

This annual initiative encourages the purchase of authentic local products by stakeholders in the tourism sector and corporate Jamaica looking for gifts for clients and staff. ​ Over 150 local producers of corporate gifts and souvenir items will be on show.

 

REGGAE SUMFEST

Date: Jul 16-22, 2023

Venue: Catherine Hall, Montego Bay

Reggae Sumfest is Jamaica’s premier festival dedicated to showcasing our island’s indigenous reggae music while also promoting Jamaica as a prime summer destination for visitors. ​ ​ Reggae Sumfest attracts visitors and media from all across the globe.

The festival will feature 5 exciting lead up events at various venues in Montego Bay. at Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex. It promises to be an unforgettable line up of the best in reggae and dancehall from start to finish.

 

THE SEVILLE EMANCIPATION JUBILEE

Date: Jul 31 – Aug 1, 2023

Venue: Seville Heritage Park, St. Ann

Jamaica National Heritage Trust will be hosting its annual Emancipation Jubilee Celebration, which will once again be hosted at the Seville Great House in St. Ann. It will primarily depict four groups or period in our history, namely 1) Taino or Amerindian found in Jamaica 2) Spanish conquest 3) English conquest 4) Slavery.

 

DREAM WEEKEND

Date: Jul 28 – Aug 1, 2023

Venue: Negril

It is a highly anticipated summer music festival considered to be the Caribbean’s largest party experience. The week-long event features entertainment by top artistes and DJs from all genres of music. The genre of Dancehall is at the forefront of all events while including elements of popular music genres such as pop, house, hip hop, rap, and soca.

No two editions of Dream Weekend are alike, which is what keeps patrons coming back each year because they are guaranteed a good time.

 

AUGUST

 

MOBAY JERK & FOOD FESTIVAL

Date: Aug 1, 2023

Venue: Kingston, Montego Bay

The event is hosted annually at the Catherine Hall Complex on Emancipation Day. It gives families the opportunity to enjoy a day filled with activities including kiddies village, assortment of local dishes, cultural performances and a stage show component.

 

JAMAICA FESTIVAL CELEBRATIONS

Jamaica’s annual Independence celebrations will be recognised in fine style. ​ The float parade and grand gala brought back in 2008 forms the zenith of the celebrations, and have helped to strategically revitalize and engender the nostalgic Independence celebrations.

JAMAICA BRIDAL EXPO

Come and Learn from the Industry’s Experts. For Wedding Professionals at all levels. This hybrid one day conference combines elements and resources for planning and executing a successful Jamaican destination wedding experience. The Jamaica Wedding Conference will incorporate sessions with guest speakers. This will allow an opportunity for both networking as well as an educational platform for those who want to learn, thrive and to be at the top of this industry

 

CARIBBEAN PREMIER LEAGUE CRICKET(CPL) T20

Date: September-October TBC

Venue: Sabina Park, Kinston

CPL is an annual 20/20 cricket tournament held in the Caribbean. It was created in 2013 and replaced the Caribbean Twenty20. Participating teams include: Jamaica Tallawahs, Barbados Tridents, Trinidad Red Steel, Guyana Amazon Warriors, St. Kitts Patriots and St. Lucia Zouks. ​

 

PORT ANTONIO INT’L MARLIN TOURNAMENT

This is the 58th staging of this annual event which will once again feature the Port Antonio Canoe Tournament. Last year over 40 boats registered with a total of 186 anglers, 20 of which were international participants.

 

WORLD TOURISM DAY

Date: Sept 27, 2023

Venue: Island-wide

The purpose of this day is to raise awareness on the role of tourism within the international community and to show how it affects social, cultural, political and economic values worldwide. This is celebrated on September 27 annually as in 1970; the Statutes of the UNWTO were adopted and are considered a milestone in global tourism. ​

OCTOBER

 

DIGICEL IMAGINE 5k (NIGHT) RUN

Date: October TBC

Venue: Kingston

The night run sets in motion an electrifying evening of fun and live entertainment - all with a goal to raise funds and increase awareness for Special Needs.

Virtual or physical, everyone is encouraged to support this fundraising event in aid of special needs institutions. Beneficiaries have included the Jamaica Autism Support Association, Jamaica Association on Intellectual Disabilities (JAID), Jamaica Association for the Deaf, Jamaica Society for the Blind, Jamaica Down's Syndrome Foundation, Special Olympics Jamaica, STEP Centre, Mustard Seed Communities such as NAZ Children's Centre, Genesis Academy & Liberty Academy.

 

RIDE YA BIKE – KINGSTON TO NEGRIL

Venue: Kingston/Negril

This will be a family fun ride from the capital city Kingston to the capital of casual, Negril. ​ The ride will start at 4:30am

 

AMALGAMATION

Date: October TBC

Venue: Kingston

PLIE for the Arts is a culturally inspired organization made of artistes from various companies in Jamaica, with a mandate to further develop dance through workshops, seminars and international dance scholarships. ​

The organisers have been successful in providing scholarships in dance to Jamaican dancers to the prestigious Alvin Ailey School and Complexions Contemporary’s highly competitive New York Dance Intensive Programs.

2018 featured Prima Ballerina, Misty Copeland and the last physical event in 2019 featured principal dancers from (9) world renowned companies and countries: ​ The Bolshoi Ballet (Russia), NY City Ballet and American Ballet Theatre (USA), The Cuban National Ballet (Cuba), The Royal Ballet of London (UK), The National Dance Company of Mexico (Mexico), The Royal Winnipeg Ballet (Canada), Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre (USA), dancers from Kazakhstan and Spain and the Jamaica’s Plie Collective, which consists of dancers from the NDTC, LaCadco, The Company Dance Theatre, Movements Dance Company and the Ashe Company.

 

MERRITONE HOMECOMING & FAMILY REUNION

Venue: Kingston & Montego Bay

This is a week-long celebration of Merritone Music which attracts Jamaicans resident and in the Diaspora as well as foreigners alike. ​

It begins with a thanksgiving service at Webster Memorial United Church and features a series of musical events in Kingston. ​ It culminates with a 5 day 4 night gathering over National Heroes Weekend at an all-inclusive resort on the North Coast to include several activities showcasing Jamaican music and culture.

 

SOUTH COAST HOOK & LINE CANOE TOURNEY

Date: Oct 15-17, 2023

Venue: Treasure Beach

This tournament will feature environmental exhibits and entertainment. ​ A 3-day competition during which local fishermen vie for prizes by catching the largest fish using only the traditional fishing method of a simple hook and line. No fancy yachts or first-world equipment are to be seen at this grassroots event.

The weekend also includes other exciting events, such as a boat race, local talent show, fish fry and community beach party

 

BK MANDEVILLE 7K

Date: October TBC

Venue: Mandeville

This is part of a yearlong calendar of running events leading up to the penultimate Reggae Marathon in December. ​ Entrants of all ages are encouraged to participate; race starts at Burger King Caledonia Rd

 

JAMAICA SPARTAN RACE WEEKEND

Date: Oct 27-30, 2023 (TBC)

Venue: Montego Bay / Trelawney

The first of a 3 year series of the Jamaica Spartan Race Weekend will be executed in Jamaica for the very first time in 2022. Athletes will compete in the coveted Spartan Trifecta – sprint, super, beast and kids Races as well as other activities such as receptions, athlete dinners/brunches, concert, other adventure activities over the period. ​ Jamaica will seek to position this event to attract adventure, health and wellness fans, athletes, celebrities and media to the island.

Spartan is the world’s leading endurance sports and wellness brand. It has over 10 million active followers across its primary social platforms.

 

NOVEMBER

 

CYCLE JAMAICA

Date: Oct 27-30, 2023 (TBC)

Venue: Montego Bay / Trelawney

This is an all-inclusive cycling vacation which includes 4 nights stay at an all-inclusive resort based in Runaway Bay, and 3 organized rides. There is time in the afternoons to meet up with fellow cyclists, spouses and friends to explore the island's many attractions, relax at the spa and to enjoy the facilities of your all-inclusive resort. This ride caters to ALL pace levels. If you are an elite cyclist, be prepared to be challenged by the island's top champions and if you are a newbie or intermediate cyclist, know that the experience is made fun for everyone and there is full service support at all times along the way.

Two route options are provided each day - one short and one long. For those who ride under 16mph, only the shorter route is available. ​ Sag vehicles are provided for ALL groups.

Rest stops are well planned so as to ensure everyone experiences the real Jamaica: we will have a rest stop at a local fruit stall. Enjoy coconut water straight from the nut: the best rehydration ever! ​ Enjoy local roasted yams - as we pedal through "Usain country"! The Jamaican people are warm and genuinely friendly.

 

NORCECA BEACH VOLLEYBALL CONT’L TOUR

Venue: Ocho Rios Bay Beach, St. Ann

This circuit plays 12 tournaments each year, with countries from North and Central America and the Caribbean. Points from the tournaments are accumulated and used towards qualification of other major tournaments, such as the PanAm games. ​ USA, Canada, Costa Rica and Mexico are the top countries.

 

ANNIE’S REVENGE GOLF TOURNAMENT

Venue: Montego Bay

Jamaica’s largest international Pro-Am has quickly become one of golf’s most popular tournaments with teams consisting of players from the U.S., Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. ​ ​ The field is open to teams consisting of a PGA or LPGA Golf Professional, Assistant Pro and three (3) amateurs.

 

JAMAICA FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL

Date: November 16-20, 2023 (TBC)

Venue: Montego Bay

Exotic Flavours, Exhilarating Spirits and Unforgettable Experiences – this is what is promised by the organizers of this 4 day foodie event. This event is modeled after the International food festivals such as the South Beach Wine & Food Festival.

An electrifying cultural week in Jamaica geared towards facilitating new designers and showcasing the best of emerging talent in the creative industries. ​ Activities usually include: ​ the MoDa Runway, the MoDa Business, the 2-day wholesale & consumer trade show and artisan market – the MoDa Market.

 

REGGAE SUNSPLASH

Venue: Grizzly’s Plantation Cove, Ocho Rios

After a 14 year hiatus, this once major reggae festival returned in 2020 to deliver a stellar 3-day musical menu that is sure to please fans from home and abroad. ​ This year, the event will present musical performances from past, present and up and coming artistes to suit all levels of fans.

 

RIDE YA BIKE – OCHO RIOS

Venue: Kingston/Negril

This will be a fun ride through the resort town of Ocho Rios dubbed as the Centre of Attractions as there is so much to do. ​ The ride will start at 7:30am

 

CAYMANAS TRACK SUPERDAY

Date: November TBC

Venue: Caymanas Track, St. Catherine

This is a race to be run over 2000 meters at Caymans Park. ​ The history of the race has been graced by outstanding winners such as Legal Light, who won the inaugural running in 1978, The Viceroy, Mark My Word, Miracle Man and Menudo who won it four years in a row

 

ST. ELIZABETH HOMECOMING WEEK

Venue: Montego Bay

This is a nine day celebration to honor the achievements of St. Elizabeth and to promote the parish as an investment, tourism and cultural destination. ​ The Homecoming week celebrations will also highlight the parish’s culture and sports as well as the outstanding achievements of the sons and daughters locally and internationally.

This highly acclaimed event will feature an 18-hole pro-am and 54-hole stroke play tournament where golf professionals from the US, Canada, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean compete for the top trophy and cash prize to be awarded to the top 50 per cent of the professional field as well as the top performing senior pros.

 

JAMAICA OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

JAMAICA HEALTH & WELLNESS TOURISM CONFERENCE

Venue: Kingston

The conference, now in its 4th year, is being hosted by the Tourism Linkages Network (TLN), a division of the Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF). The conference is designed to promote Jamaica as a health and wellness tourism destination.

 

JAMAICA CLASSIC NCAA BASKETBALL

Date: Nov 17 & 19, 2023

Venue: Montego Bay

This is an annual National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament held at the Montego Bay Convention Centre.

The tournament features 8 major Universities from the US where they will play games for 3 days each. ​ With direct flights into Sangster International Airport (MBJ) from nearly every major U.S. city and an average November temperature of 80 degrees F, Montego Bay is the perfect destination for an early college basketball getaway.

 

DECEMBER

 

REGGAE MARATHON

Date: Dec 3, 2023

Venue: Negril

This is Jamaica’s premier International Marathon Event. Marathoners, sports enthusiasts as well as beginners to converge in Negril, Jamaica’s capital of casual, are encouraged to join this presentation by running the 10k, half marathon or full marathon and logging their times.

 

PORTLAND PARADISE WEEKEND

Date: December TBC

Venue: Port Antonio

Portland Paradise Weekend is a movement designed to celebrate the lifestyle, culture and beauty of one of Jamaica’s true treasures. ​ We don’t use the term paradise lightly when referring to this uniquely lush part of the island and home to some of the most exclusive vacation properties in the world. This will be an epic three day event of Fun, Fest, Food and Awareness. ​ It will feature a welcome party, beach show, concert and excursions to attractions within the breathtaking resort area of Portland.

 

STYLE JAMAICA

Venue: Montego Bay

Shopping is becoming an increasingly relevant component of the tourism value chain and has been converted into a determinant factor affecting destination choice. Style Jamaica was organized to leverage this new market trend by developing authentic and unique shopping experiences that add value to Jamaica’s touristic offer. ​

The programme is designed as a shopping event which connects local fashion designers to the tourism industry.

 

JTA NATIONAL CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIP

Date: December TBC

Venue: Kingston

This open event challenges participants in a Sprint Triathlon which features a 750km swim, 20km bike ride and a 5km run. ​ Other events include:

  • Super Sprint Triathlon: 375m Swim - 10K Bike - 2.5K Run
  • Sprint Aquathlon: 750m Swim - 5K Run
  • Super Sprint Aquathlon: 375m Swim - 2.5K Run
  • Super Sprint Duathlon : 20K Bike - 2.5K Run

The action gets underway at 6:30am.

 

GOLDEN TOURISM DAY AWARDS

Venue: Montego Bay

The Ministry of Tourism and its Agencies, under the auspices of the Honourable Edmund Bartlett, MP, Minister of Tourism will once again host the Golden Tourism Day Awards (GTDA). This award ceremony is held annually to honour hard-working tourism workers who have given invaluable contribution to our sector for fifty (50) or more years in the tourism industry. It provides an opportunity to celebrate these workers who continue to be the heartbeat and most memorable part of a Jamaican vacation experience. Without these persons in tourism, Jamaica would not have been able to achieve such significant economic growth in the industry.

 

HARBOUR FEST & FIREWORK ON THE WATERFRONT

Venue: Kingston Downtown

Join Jamaicans from across the island, ringing in the New Year with the phenomenal Fireworks display on the Down Town Harbor. This free event will feature Kiddies village, a massive craft vendors’ arcade and great family entertainment on stage.
