The Internet Services Providers’ Association (ISPA UK) is today unveiling the finalists for the 2020 ISPA Awards, the longest running and most prestigious awards for the UK’s internet industry.

In this the 22nd year of the awards we feel it is more important than ever to acknowledge and showcase the industry. The importance of keeping the UK connected has been clear for all to see during the global pandemic, allowing friends and families to keep in touch, keeping the economy moving, supporting a shift to remote working and enabling home schooling. The ISPA Awards are proud to recognise their contributions, whatever their size, as shown by the breadth and variety of those shortlisted for an award.

Once again, our technical testing partners, thinkbroadband, provided the all-important data in the broadband categories. Entrants were given more time to submit their entries and we are very pleased by everyone’s efforts and willingness to participate in the awards.  The judges then considered hundreds of entries to shortlist the 67 nominees for the twelve different categories. The winners will be announced on 18th November 2020.

To reflect the changing market dynamics,  we introduced three new categories: the Best New ISP to recognise the changes to the UK sector, with more and more full fibre gigabit ISPs launching; the Social Impact Award for the company that has used the Internet to deliver a positive social impact; and the Outstanding Individual Contribution for all who have changed the industry for the better.

ISPA Chair Andrew Glover, commented:
“This year’s shortlisted ISPA Awards finalists demonstrate the high calibre and diversity of ISPs across the UK, who continue to drive growth and innovation across the internet industry. With broadband playing such an important role in keeping people connected during the crisis, and with a key part to play in the UK’s recovery, are all looking forward towards an exciting evening which showcases the very best that the UK industry has to offer.”
