About this event

A film screening and discussion event featuring the documentary film Indian Space Dreams. A wonderfully inspirational film produced and directed by Dr Sue Sudbury and TV screened in 98 countries. Indian Space Dreams was long listed for the Best International Feature Documentary Academy Award. You can view the film trailer online.

At this special screening we will be joined by Dr Hugh Mortimer, a senior planetary scientist from the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory at Harwell. He is a physicist and science communicator with a broad range of experience in Earth Observation and Planetary Science research. He has recently been seconded to the UK Space Directorate in BEIS (the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy).

5.30pm - drinks and welcome by Professor John Vinney, Vice-Chancellor, Dr Hugh Mortimer and Dr Sue Sudbury.

6.15pm for a prompt 6.30pm start - film screening and Q&A with Dr Hugh Mortimer, Dr Sue Sudbury and Dr Chindu Sreedharan. Film running time is 77 minutes. The Q&A will last approximately 30 minutes.

This event is hosted by Professor Candida Yates and Dr Sue Sudbury, Joint-Directors of the BU Research Centre for Conflict, Emotion and Social Justice.
