This session will focus on the critical role that faith and belief leaders can play in: 1) dismantling harmful misinterpretations of religious texts used to justify conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) and 2) denouncing the stigma facing survivors.
The aim of the panel discussion will be to showcase the Declaration as an example of how religious leaders can work with governments and others to tackle sensitive issues, as well as galvanising support for the Declaration of Humanity, a global initiative through which faith and belief leaders can signal their commitment to addressing this issue within their communities and embed into action to affect change.
The session will conclude with an invitation to participants to add their names to the list of signatories to the Declaration.
