Seeds for Change – Developing Global Citizens through Play at Early Level

Young children are actively discovering how the world works and what role they can play in it. As educators working with children at CfE Early Level (3-6 years old), we can support them to develop the knowledge, skills and values they need to successfully navigate the world around them, and help bring about positive change.

Research shows that young children learn best through play, and this is now supported by education policies such as Realising the Ambition. ‘Seeds for Change’ provides practical guidance, suggestions and case studies from around Scotland to encourage global citizenship education through a child-centred, play-based approach. The resource aims to provide inspiration and support for practitioners and children to explore and celebrate our diverse world with curiosity, empathy and respect.

We are delivering free online courses to accompany the resource for Early Level practitioners across Scotland. The next courses are:
