What is LECTIO DIVINA?

Lectio Divina, or Divine Reading, is a prayerful reading of the Word of God integrating all other forms of prayer (thanksgiving, praise, petition prayer, meditation). It is a true dialogue with God in which God speaks to us first.
Our prayer, our word is ONLY a response to His Word according to what the Holy Spirit enables us to understand.
Praying by listening to the Word of God, is walking in the presence of the Lord who really speaks to us personally and as a group:
  • He instructs us,
  • helps us to understand,
  • questions us,
  • invites us to respond and also to question Him in return.
He therefore fills us by His presence, like when we are filled by the presence of someone who loves us and that we love.

The Lectio Divina Prayer Group is part of the ✟ LOV Verbum Dei ✟ family, a ministry dedicated to create a network that will enable individuals and groups from parishes to prayerfully connect together by READING, PRAYING, LIVING the Word of God.
The prayer group is international as we have members all around the world praying with and for us in Bristol.

The group is meeting once a week that you are invited to join at ANY TIME:
  1. Wednesday evenings 8pm UK Time -> L.O.V. for MASS both in-person (St Mary On-the-Quay and St James Priory-Bristol) and online -> "To rekindle the fire of LOVE for the MASS to gain its fruits more fully by sharing on the Sunday's Gospel, praying the Rosary or Divine Mercy Chaplet and ending with a silent time of Adoration (~1hr 15min)
