March 2021 sees the launch of a new way to support Genesis Trust – our online Gift Shop.
In the past we have enjoyed showcasing and raising money through selling artwork and crafts created by our clients, volunteers and staff. We also have a line of fundraising ‘merchandise’: our reusable coffee cup, a trolley coin key ring , Christmas cards and Genesis candles. Traditionally, we have sold these at the Bath Christmas Market, the monthly Bear Flat Community Market and various craft fairs and coffee mornings throughout the year. However, there was a bit of a problem doing this in 2020!
But from the challenges of 2020 comes creation and new beginnings. Unable to attend any markets or fairs we posed the idea of having an online Genesis Trust Gift Shop that would be accessible all year round and would complement any ‘real life’ events in the future. To help make this idea a reality, we formed an exciting collaboration with a team from the i3Institute at i3Works. The team of new i3Works project managers have been working hard behind the scenes to create a gift shop website. We are so pleased with the result and this is a wonderful opportunity to bring you more arts, crafts and Genesis Trust merchandise online.
To give our Gift Shop the grand opening it deserves, the team at i3Works are working with local Bath area artists and businesses to host a ‘Crafternoon’ on Saturday, 27th March.
This will be a virtual craft fair with live activities including decoupage, animation (by our very own Matt Prescott), candle making, the Body Shop, and many more sessions throughout the afternoon. We will also have exhibitors at stalls from cartoonists, clothing, crochet/upcycling, calligraphy, and more. These sessions will be held at scheduled times throughout the day and there will also be exhibitors at ‘booths’ or virtual stalls throughout the afternoon.
And with every registration comes a free ticket to the raffle that will be held on the day, with the opportunity to win Body Shop products, air drying clay, clothing, crochet and many more!
