Zero Robotics is a 5-week program in which middle school students (rising 6th graders through rising 9th graders) learn to program a satellite on the International Space Station as part of a national coding competition.  This program is FREE of charge and all educators & mentors receive free training and free ongoing technical assistance from MIT.   All you need to do to get started is (1) register your school/program/team with the Florida After School Alliance by completing this application,  (2) identify a mentor to work with your team,  (3) create a team of 5-10 students and (4) create accounts on zerorobotics.mit.edu and start writing code for the International Space Station!

Florida will be participating in Session II of ZR - the program will run from  July 8th to August 9th..  Your school/program has flexibility in terms of when and how you convene but it is suggested that you aim for 15hrs/week to ensure students are getting the best experience possible.  Other Important Dates include:

Teacher Training prt 1 - Saturday, June 15th @ the AMF Center for Space Education
Field Day Event - Friday, July 12th @ AMF Center for Space Education
Finals Event - Tentatively Friday, August 9th @ KSC Visitors Complex (Astronaut Encounter Theater)
