St Mary's & St Patrick's RC Primary Newsletter 25.April.2022

Hello and welcome to our new style newsletter. I am hoping that these newsletters will grow and become a celebration of all our school events, news and learning. I hope everyone has enjoyed a blessed Easter and that time spent with family and friends has been one of laughter, happiness and love. Our Snoopy has been enjoying his time in Sidoli's Cafe at the Harbour in Porthcawl. I wonder how many of you visited him? The Summer Term brings lots to celebrate and much still to learn. We will have a list of event dates as soon as possible, as we plan for the last term of this academic year.

The last week of term was a busy and eventful time. Y4 & Y5 had a wonderful time at Folly Farm, visiting the some of the animals they had learnt about. Y6 held a celebration of their World War Two Topic with a VE Party which was shared with families. Our youngest pupils from Nursery to Y3, enjoyed an Easter egg trail with Alys.

On Friday 8th April, we became the first school in Wales to be chosen to take part in the Ten Ten Year of Pilgrimage. It was a beautiful celebration of our Faith and our blessed position of being homed within our Church grounds. Many thanks to Fr Edmund for supporting us, and Derek and Dennis Horton for arriving so early to welcome Edith and Martin. Our Pilgrim Guides were very well prepared and presented amazingly. There were many of our children who took part and we will soon be seeing them on the big screen in our assemblies. We will share with you as soon as we can.

We still continue to pray for Peace in Ukraine and that people will show acts of love and kindness towards each other.

As always I thank you for the support you give us as a school. If you need to contact me, please do so on Class Dojo or ring the school. Mrs James will arrange a time for me to ring you back if I am not available at the time. My email address is head@stmstpcs.bridgend.cymru. God bless you and your families, Mrs Kelly-Fisher.
