சுப்பிரமணிய பாரதி (டிசம்பர் 11, 1882- செப்டம்பர் 9, 1921)
தமிழுக்கு நவீன சிந்தனையையும், தமிழ்க் கவிதைக்குப் புத்துயிரையும் அளித்தவ்ர் மகாகவி சுப்பிரமணிய பாரதி. 39 வயது கூட நிரம்பாத தனது குறுகிய வாழ்நாளில் அரசியல், சமூகம், கலை, பத்திரிகை, இலக்கியம் எனப் பல்வேறு துறைகளிலும் உலகளாவிய பார்வையுடன் சாதனைகள் புரிந்தவர். அவரது வாழ்க்கையை சித்தரிக்கும் முதல் முழு நீள டாகுமெண்டரி ‘சுப்பிரமணிய பாரதி’.
காசி, சென்னை, புதுவை, மதுரை, எட்டயபுரம், கடையம், திருநெல்வேலி என அவர் வாழ்ந்த நகரங்கள், தங்கியிருந்த இல்லங்கள் படமாகியுள்ளன. அவரது காலத்து மனிதர்களின் புகைப்படங்களும் இதில் இடம் பெற்றுள்ளன. அவருடன் பழகிய இரு முதியவர்களின் பேட்டிகள் பாரதியைக் கண் முன்னே மீண்டும் நிறுத்தும் வண்ணம் பதிவாகியுள்ளன.
பாரதியின் வாழ்க்கையைக் கற்பனைச் சம்பவங்களுடன் பிணைக்காது உண்மைத் தகவல்களைக் கொண்டே இப்படம் சித்தரிக்கிறது. பாரதியைத் தெரிந்து கொள்ள அவரைப் பற்றிய பல நூல்களைப் படித்தாக வேண்டும் என்ற கட்டாயத்திலிருந்து விடுவித்து, அவரை எளிதாக இளைய தலைமுறையினர் அணுகும் வகையில் தயாரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இரண்டு வருடக் கடும் உழைப்பிற்குப்பின் எடுக்கப்பட்டது இப்படம்.

hats off the whole team of this documentary on Mahakavi Bharathi,
who was a rare phenomenon in our time. The director Amson kumar is well placed the relevant photographs and created a fine balance between contemporary and traditional forms.. we wanted young generation should celebrate this film and remember Bharathi at the corner of our nation facing crisis.
I just now finished viewing the documentary on Bharathi. I enjoyed it and have shared with my siblings and some select friends via whatsapp. Bharathi’s contributions, personality and the trials and tribulations he underwent were brought out very well. It was nice to see the houses he lived in during different points in his life. The last house he lived in Triplicane was passed by me everyday for 3 years when I was going to the Hindu High School. The very thought of those days and the house in my memory inspires me! The narration was very clear and the pronunciation of words was very authentic and perfect. Kudos to the entire team. I am extremely thankful to you for letting me know of this documentary under your initiative.
