Selena Gomez has released her first Spanish-language track in over a decade. Dubbed “De Una Vez,” it’s a rhythmic pop tune with hints of urban music.
In the empowering song, produced by Tainy, Albert Hype, Jota Rosa, and Neon16, Gomez opens up about healing from a previous relationship and discovering her self-worth. “Ya no duele como antes, no / La herida de tu amor sanó,” she kicks off the track.
“I am incredibly proud of my Latin background,” Gomez said about her new single in a statement. “It felt empowering to sing in Spanish again and ‘De Una Vez’ is such a beautiful love anthem.”
“De Una Vez” marks Gomez’s second Spanish-language track since “Un Año Sin Lluvia” in 2010. At the end of the music video, directed by Los Pérez (Tania Verduzco and Adrián Pérez), the words “Baila Conmigo” hint at a potential second Spanish single.

It doesn’t hurt like before, no
The wound of your love healed
Once and for all, ah-ah-ah
I’m stronger alone, ah-ah-ah
I don’t regret the past
I know the time by your side cut my wings
But now this chest is bulletproof
I don’t have you, I have myself
Don’t think that this is for you, nah
I left so you don’t forget
That a death like yours can be survived
When the last ocean dries up
Is when I will think of returning
It’s understanding what I feel
You’re gone, timing is perfect
I’m cured from you, I told you
I don’t feel you here, I don’t feel you anymore
You never knew, you didn’t know how to value me, and (Oh)
Once and for all (once and for all), ah-ah-ah
I’m stronger alone, ah-ah-ah
I don’t regret the past
I know the time by your side cut my wings
But now this chest is bulletproof
Oh
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah
Now this chest is bulletproof
Uh-uh-uh-uh
Alone, ah-ah, ah
Now this chest is bulletproof
