The Department of Economics is an independent part of the Lancaster University Management School (LUMS). With over 40 members of faculty from more than 15 countries, the Department provides an international, collegial and dynamic research environment with a commitment to world-class academic excellence.

 

We are currently looking to fill a position at the level of Lecturer (i.e., equivalent to Assistant Professor) in Applied Microeconomics (e.g. Development Economics, Industrial Organisation, Labour Economics, Public Economics, International Trade). The ideal candidate should have a PhD Economics or related field by the time of the appointment and demonstrate the potential to publish in internationally recognised journals. The jobholder will be expected to participate fully in the intellectual life of the department, to maintain a high quality research agenda that reaches out to external networks of collaborators as well as contributing to research activities within the Department and the Faculty. This will include participating in externally funded collaborative research projects as well as seeking funding for one’s own projects. The teaching responsibilities will consist of a contribution to core subjects at any level in the research areas of the jobholder, as well as supervision of MSc and PhD students.
