Improving the Student Experience through better
MyBeckett Module Design (in-person), City

Getting your modules ready for September? Drawing on findings from UK-wide research by JISC and CLT best practice in digital pedagogy, this workshop will look at some practical steps you can take to lead to better teaching and learning
in the online space. We will look at common problems that students and staff encounter when using MyBeckett and consider how online course design can help to solve them. We'll consider how your MyBeckett design impacts on the
student experience and look at some basic principles to follow to make sure that students can focus on their learning rather than getting lost in MyBeckett.

27th DEAP24 Learning & Teaching Conference,
(in-person), HC
DEAP24 - Inclusive Practice and Equality of Opportunity
Inclusive practice within higher education recognises and values our diversity of students and staff, and aims to create an environment where everyone can participate fully and achieve their potential. As we aim to ensure that all our
students are supported to succeed through improving equality of opportunity and challenging risks to equality of opportunity, it’s important that this work is informed by evidence and evaluated to understand its real impact. We will explore
the principles and practices of inclusive practice, such as designing a relevant and flexible curriculum, using a variety of teaching and assessment methods, creating a supportive and inclusive climate, and providing appropriate support
and adjustments. We will also discuss how inclusive practice can foster a sense of belonging and engagement among students and staff, and how it can support the development of critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, social and
emotional competencies, and excellence. There will be examples of excellent practice, interactive activities, approaches to design of interventions and evaluation of these interventions, and opportunities for reflection and feedback.
